Scientist Jan Benes, who knows the secret to keeping soldiers shrunken for an indefinite period, escapes from behind the Iron Curtain with the help of CIA agent Grant. While being transferred, their motorcade is attacked. Benes strikes his head, causing a blood clot to form in his brain. Grant is ordered to accompany a group of scientists as they are miniaturized. The crew has one hour to get in Benes's brain, remove the clot and get out. Written by Brian Washington <Sargebri@att.net>

Goofs

After the Proteus has finished Phase 1 shrinking and is placed in a test tube, it submerges and descends deep into the tube. During the descent there are several shots looking up past the commander toward the surface. Many bubbles can be seen rising and striking the surface a short distance above the sub. In each upward shot the distance to the surface never changes, even though the sub is shown to be descending rapidly in other shots. See more »

Quotes

Capt. Bill Owens: Mr Grant, send a message telling them that the Proteus is ready.
Grant: The Proteus, what's that?
Capt. Bill Owens: That's the name of this vessel; sounds better than calling it the U91O35.

A Great Thriller
21 July 2003 | by (Los Angeles, California) – See all my reviews

This is not only a great science fiction film, it is also a great thriller as well. I especially loved the fact that this was supposedly done in "real time" and that the characters and that it was not only a mission to save the scientist life, but a race against time before the miniaturization wore off. Also, even though the effects are dated, they still were pretty good for the era they were produced in.
