Storyline

Dale Squire is a hip, quirky, independent single gal living in the glossy city of Los Angeles. After several failed attempts in quasi-relationships, Dale concludes that finding a meaningful relationship in L.A. is impossible. But being anti-social is tough for any young girl in Hollywood. With Jill's frantic wedding right around the corner, Dale finds herself reflecting on the significance of marriage, and the mutual respect needed for a successful relationship. When Zach, a successful heartthrob rock star and old friend of Dale's finds his way back into her life, Dale slowly starts to think that maybe finding love in L.A. is possible - the only problem is that her realization might have come too late, leaving Dale in a silent love triangle, with no way out. where are all the Asian people? lack of diversity.
19 February 2015 | by (China) – See all my reviews

Los angeles is a big metropolis, it has all kinds of people, all races, all languages, etc.

I posted a comment in the message board a while ago. Just recently, I found out that there are haters who flag any messages that they don't like. sometimes, people's posts got deleted automatically if it gets enough flags without being reviewed by any admins. several of my messages got deleted like that.

so today i checked this message board again to see if my message is still here. some people actually flagged my comment about this lack of diversity in this film,so it is not here any more. this message board is not an active board, it still has 2009 messages on the front page. what they did is just so wrong. i am not surprised at all. so i am writing this review so they can't report it any more.

the storyline is not interesting. and one big problem that i see with many Hollywood films is that they don't hire Asian actors whether it is about current or future time. this film happened in los angeles, but throughout this film, i didn't see any Asian faces! this is just plain and simple wrong. i don't even see Asian people in the background. when foreign people watch it, they probably think that los angeles is a big city with lots of white people, that is simply not the case. no wonder asians hardly ever won any Oscar awards, because they are never hired!

simon rex acted as a foreign Italian guy, but in reality, there are far more foreign-born Asian guys in los angeles. this film would feel more authentic if it had inter-racial dating. there are just too many white people films, so this one just doesn't stand out.

Hollywood will never hire any Asian actors if people are not even aware of this serious problem.
