I just finished my master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, co-advised by Dr. Goetz Graefe and Prof. AnHai Doan. My research focuses on database systems, esp. query optimization and processing. Currently, I am working on projects related to indexing techniques and incremental maintenance of materialized views.

I come from a philosophy background, which has shaped my way of thinking to this day. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Peking University with a thesis on Immanuel Kant's theoretical philosophy under the supervision of my long-time mentor, Prof. Zengding Wu.

I enjoy reading novels and self-reflective writing (a very small collection that I made public (in Chinese)), though they can sometimes feel like a luxury. Yoga, outdoor activities, and the Economist podcasts, however, are a must of my life.

I engage in my community, esp. within our department: I serve on the Graduate Advising Board and spoke at the CS Dept Graduate Student Orientation. I was also a volunteer for our department's booth at the GHC 2024 to promote women and non-binary people in computing.
