I'm currently working with Jerry Zhu on machine teaching. Generally, machine teaching addresses the question of how to 'better' train a machine learner. It is often viewed as the inverse problem to machine learning, which addresses the question of designing a machine learner that learns better. In exploring machine teaching problems, we often deplore set optimization and active learning tools.

Machine teaching has been applied to various field including computer security, human computer interaction and Cognitive Psychology and Education. For a straightforward and intuitive introduction to machine teaching problem, check out this paper. If you want to learn more about current researches on machine teaching, please visit this site.
