Our team designed a set of scenarios and behaviors for a robot meant to give directions to visitors of a medium to large-sized facility — in this specific case, Memorial Union. In our design, the robot locates those in need of its services by looking for behavioral patterns, initiates contact with these people using a limited store of movements and vocabulary, and ultimately helps users to their destination through a process that includes printing out a personal map. The robot with which we specifically designed was the Mitsubishi Wakamaru. Team: |
