Top Pick Courses

Hackathons

HackIllinois 2018 at UIUC

The main topic was about web application. However, I did not work on anything related to that field. Moving away from Hardware, I used OpenCV and Java to detect face and then play different sound according to a different face position. Simple enough! It was a great learning and experience to the more open world.

MinneHack 2018 at UM-Twin Cities

The prompt was about American football and injuries since it happened before Super Bowl 2018. 3 UM-Twin Cities fellows and I partnered up and came up with the idea of a wearable device that could collect data of players such as a motion and body temperature and send it to a coach in real time. It could also use motion data to analyze injuries should accidents happen. Then the motion data is sent and visualized in Python. This projects utilized Arduino, sensors, and Python.

ScarletHacks 2017 at IIT

This was a pair project. IIT organized a hackathon for the first time so there was no specific prompt.

Work

In Summer 2020, I worked as an API developer intern at RIS Company Limited in Bangkok, Thailand. Under the Solution Architect and Integration Management team, I have a wide range of responsibilities, including the followings:

Most APIs developed are RESTfuls (HTTP/JSON formatted). Some are SOAPs (XML formatted). The platform used is MuleSoft/Anypoint Studio. The testing tools are Postman and SOAPUI. This experience is rewarding for me as it allows me to see how applications are used in the real world. Moreover, it shows me how business works with partners or even among internal teams.

In addition to that, I was a private tutor during the weekend, introducing Python programming and Computer Science concepts to people with zero programming experience. This really helps me refine my knowledge and the ways I explain concepts to non-CS people.

Research

In Spring 2019, I worked in a communication lab with profesor Bhuvana Krishnaswamy and her students. My task was to help graduates on develope embedded system used in their research.

During summer 2018, I worked in Wisconsin Embedded System and Computing Laboratory with Prof. Younghyun Kim. My focus was on creating a proof of concept on an IoT embedded system used in cattle. It was great learning experience!

I was briefly in a Wisconsin Human-Computer Interaction Lab for a semester with Prof. Bilge Mutlu. My group worked on developing a dialogue system for HRI system. However it was not as successful as we wanted. Here you can read more.

Interests

I love classical music! I also play the piano. Please click here gently.
Other than this, I love to learn more about other coding language and messing with Microcontroller.
