Profile:
A right hand top-order batsman and handy off-spin bowler
Kaluperuma struggled to adjust in his brief opportunity at
international level. Blooded during a period in which Sri Lanka
was searching for players with the ability and determination to
succeed at the highest level, Kaluperuma's form for the under 23
side brought him to the attention of the selectors. Making his
debut against New Zealand batting at number three he failed to
make an impression with the bat although he did capture 2/17 with
his off-spinners. Playing all three Tests in the series, he
failed to pass 30 in his six innings and he was dropped. Earning a
recall nearly four years after his previous opportunity for the
one off Test against Australia at Perth, Kaluperuma suffered a
torrid time and it proved to be his final Test.
