Profile:A world class all rounder. "Big Mac" bowls at a lively pace and, with the juices pumping, with so much aggression that he appears to lead the ball down the pitch. He is able to break threatening partnerships, with the emphasis on value of wickets rather than quantity. He is a solid right handed batsman and among the most technically correct in the national side. His powerful frame allows him to hit the ball a long way (a favourite for the crowd being the hook shot over the square leg boundary), but ironically enough McMillan does not employ hard-hitting unless he feels settled. He is a run accumulator, and if he stays at the crease we can be assured that the score keeps moving. As a fielder, McMillan has established himself as one of the finest slip fielders in world. His agility and size also allows his captain to position him in the increasingly important limited-overs fielding position of short cover. Thanks: Ashraf Conrad (cnrash02@socsci.uct.ac.za)
