Profile:

Strengths: Has probably the best approach to the wicket for a West Indian fast bowler since Michael Holding and a young Ian Bishop. Could be genuinely quick and does swing the new ball. Has recently developed the ability to cut the old ball around. Seems somewhat more organized in 1998/9 than in the past. At least, he keeps the ball up to the batsman more. He also seems stronger and fitter.

Weaknesses: His greatest weakness is that his fielding is really terrible. Will find out quickly, if he has not yet done so, that internatonal cricket is not a joke. Also has a problem with his line at times, while his length is normally good. Needs to train more vigorously and more with a plan. Already has some bad knees. Must also learn to bowl an old ball late in the day. Sometimes loses steam after a second spell. Not always seeming to be fully fit. (Colin Croft, March 1999)
