Profile:The highly talented number four in the Western Province batting line up, Ackerman has shown an ability to dominate a bowling attack, but has developed a reputation for throwing his wicket away when just getting set. A tour of the UK with South Africa A, on the back of a good 1995/96 domestic season, has seen Ackerman mature as a batsman. Having averaged 50 and above in his last two seasons, Ackerman has shown that he is also developing the consistency to press for higher honours. Thanks: Eitan Prince (eitan@rucus.ac.za)
