Profile:
His batting genius is not a suspect, still people says he bats slow. There is a truth in it and Javed himself knows that well too. As a right-handed batsman and an opener Javed has already played some ODI, in most of them he was seen to spend too many balls to score runs. That is why Javed seems to be comfortable in playing the game's longer version.
His style is eye-catching and technique is almost flawless. His way up to the team was difficult for his compatriots who bat faster than him. Very recently, Javed looks like he has come out of this problem; he hammered 102 against International-XI surpassing all his mates in terms of scoring quickly.
He was ignored for the opening Test against India and that hurt him more than ever. His dream to play Test matches came true when he was summoned for the Zimbabwe tour. There, Javed played the most memorable knocks in his career. He was equally successful in the both versions there. A scintillating 69 in the third ODI proved once again that he could score quick runs if circumstances demanded.
In the first Test he set a record in the second innings that occurred after long 103 years. He carried the bat through the innings as a debutant with 85 runs beside him, which hit the headlines of the newspapers. His technique to handle rising deliveries in that alien Bulawayo pitch was absolutely impeccable.
