Profile:
Tall and thin, when the conditions were right Jon Agnew could be
genuinely quick. The most consistent English pace bowler in county
cricket in 1987 and 1988, he was ignored by selectors despite a dearth
of fast bowling talent. This neglect by England made his decision to
retire at the age of thirty to take up a career in broadcasting much
easier. He is currently the BBC Cricket Correspondent.
