Pictures of Eric SimonsProfile:A Western Province stalwart, dubbed "Mr-Reliable" for his match-saving and often match-winning ability with the bat and ball. Simons' crucial contributions to WP's cause has earned him legendary status in the Cape. Formerly a fairly nippy seam bowler, Simons currently bowls at little more than medium pace, but what he has lost in pace, he has made up for in accuracy. Unsurprisingly he holds the record for most wickets in the South Africa domestic night series competition, and has also made his mark in the shortened version of the game with his big hitting at the death of the innings, or when WP has needed consolidation after a middle order collapse. Thanks: Eitan Prince (eitan@rucus.ac.za)
