Profile:
Taking five wickets in his only Test, Jack Durston was an
effective county fast-medium bowler, using his height and
strength, and a nasty breakback to take over a thousand wickets
for Middlesex. An important contributor to the championship
winning teams on 1920 and 1921, he turned to bowling off-breaks
towards the end of his career, when he became rather too portly
to bowl fast (Dave Liverman, 1998).
