Profile:

Brad Hogg started his cricketing life as a specialist left handed batsman but has expanded his game in the years since to become equally as well known for his talents as a left arm wrist spinner and for his electrifying fielding skills. He is a fine strokemaker who bats in the middle to lower order at interstate level, a canny spinner who bowls with nice variety, and a magnificent fieldsman on either side of the wicket. An enigmatic player, he has often thrilled fans in Perth with his ability to produce the unpredictable, perhaps the best example of this found in a series of wickets and sensational catches in the final two matches of Western Australia's title-winning 1999-2000 Mercantile Mutual Cup campaign. In 1995-96, he also claimed what some commentators still affectionately dub 'the catch of the century' - diving horizontally to his left to grasp the remains of a full-blooded cut shot from South Australia's Paul Nobes. A valued member of Western Australia's squad from the time that he made his first-class debut in 1993-94, Hogg has also tasted cricket at international level, having represented Australia in the one-off Test against India in New Delhi in 1996 and in a total of seven one-day internationals.
