Profile:
At the very onset of his career, Bikash Ranjan used to bowl very fast and he was erratic. After getting some professional advice he slowed his pace and started to concentrate more on line and length. As a left-arm seam bowler Bikash generally opens for his side.
He made his ODI debut against West Indies and his performance enthralled everyone - as a result he got a place in the first eleven in his country's inaugural Test against India. He bowled commendably in that Test and shuttered the stumps of Ramesh in the first innings.
He played well in the exhibition matches against Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy in January, this year. Before the Zimbabwe tour, Bikash struggled with his form and his performance in the nets could not satisfy his coach, which ended with an eventual exclusion from the squad.
