Profile:
Andy Lloyd's contribution to test cricket was neither lengthy nor
distinguished. Just 33 minutes into his only test innings he was hit on
the helmet by a Malcolm Marshall bouncer after scoring 10 runs and was
carried from the field. He missed the rest of the 1984 season, and after
that he never hit the form required to justify a recall. A solid opening
batsman, he was appointed captain of Warwickshire in 1988, and laid
much of the groundwork for that county's success in the 1990s.
