Pictures of Paul Wiseman
Profile:[2000/01 Season] Paul Wiseman has had a rollercoaster ride with the CLEAR Black Caps in the past three years. He has been in and out of the side as the selectors have experimented with a number of players to back up Daniel Vettori. On Wiseman's Test debut in Colombo in 1998 he took 5-82 as New Zealand took the result. In spite of good performances he has often found himself at the wrong end of pitch conditions or under-bowled when he has made the eleven. In The National Bank Tests against Australia last summer he took nine wickets at 24.66. A broken ankle sustained while doing a warm-up exercise saw Wiseman invalided home from the winter tour after playing three Tests against Zimbabwe (eight wickets at 25.87) and one ODI against South Africa. He was unavailable for the first National Bank Series of the summer against Zimbabwe. |
