Profile:Vasbert Drakes has been given the chance to extend his international career. A right-arm quick, the 33-year-old is also handy, if erratic, with the bat.Drakes started at international level in 1995, playing in five ODIs against Australia. He bowled well enough to earn selection for West Indies' 1995 tour to England, though he was not selected for the internationals. Representing Border in South Africa, Drakes has also played county cricket for Nottinghamshire, Sussex and Warwickshire. In the 2001 season, he took 42 first-class wickets for Warwickshire, before starring with the ball in the Standard Bank tournament in South Africa. Returning to Barbados, Drakes' accurate spells helped his island to their Red Stripe Bowl win. It was partly because of this, as well as doubts over Cameron Cuffy's fitness, that Drakes won an unexpected recall to the international side for the 2002 Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka.
