StatsGuru Filters for Archie JacksonProfile:Once compared to the great Victor Trumper, Archie Jackson was a batsman of immense promise who died at 23 after a battle with tuberculosis. His sole Test century was on debut against England in 1928/29 in Adelaide, where the 19-year-old opener compiled a glorious 164 to salvage Australia's chances after a top-order collapse. Jackson's performances at state level also signalled emerging brilliance but he featured in just two more Test series for Australia: the 1930 tour of England (by which time his illness had taken hold) and the West Indies' tour of Australia the following summer.
