Profile:
A left arm medium pace bowler of some promise, Rashid Patel had a
disappointing Test debut when he was dismissed for a pair, falling to
Richard Hadlee both times. As Kapil Dev's opening partner he failed to
take a wicket in 14 overs. Unfortunately, he will be remembered for
his ill tempered row with Raman Lamba during the Duleep Trophy final
between North Zone and West Zone in 1990-91, a regrettable incident
which saw Patel being slapped with a 13 month ban. (Partab Ramchand)
