Profile:[2000/01 Season] Craig McMillan is an aggressive batsman who signalled his style when on his Test debut, against Australia in December 1997, he hit Shane Warne over the long-on fence for six to bring up his half-century. McMillan is a confrontational cricketer, who loves to hit the ball hard, and has developed his bowling to the point where he has become a genuine one-day option. His form fluctuated throughout last summer with success tending to come during Test innings as he averaged 41.00 against the West Indies and 32.33 against Australia. However a run of low scores during the one-day series against both nations saw him left out of the side for the final two matches of the season. The winter tour to Zimbabwe and South Africa was also disappointing for McMillan but he seemed to rediscover his old form in the first National Bank Series of this summer against Zimbabwe, compiling a century in the Boxing Day Test and smashing 75 off 53 balls while taking 2-49 with the ball in the final ODI. |
