StatsGuru Filters for George Duckworth

Profile:

A steady keeper, and England's first choice for a number of years. One of the great appealers, both in quality and volume, George Duckworth was a compact, powerful man whose greatest virtue as a keeper was consistency, although his quickness and agility resulted in some remarkable leg side catches and stumpings. In the latter part of his career he was often the second-string England keeper, Ames being preferred for his better batting. After retirement he became the county scorer, and accompanied many England overseas tours as baggage-man (Dave Liverman, 1998).
