Maco: The Malcolm Marshall Story - buy online from CricShop
Possibly the best of the great West Indies fast bowlers of the 70s and 80s (and the most successful in terms of Test wickets). Malcolm Marshall, despite being a relatively short man (compared to Garner, Roberts and Holding) was genuinely fast, and his deadly and accurate bouncers were feared by batsmen the world over. Accurate, and capable of getting late swing due to his unusual method of gripping the ball and his unique action. Marshall could always provide something extra in a big match and never let his side down when it needed a good performance. Marshall's competitive nature was illustrated by him batting with one hand against England after injury to enable a teammate to reach his century. He was a useful batsman, with some stylish shots. He was the coach of the West Indies national team until, during the 1999 World Cup, he withdrew after being diagnosed with cancer that was eventually to claim his life.
