Profile:
A brief Test career, as opposed to 14 years of County cricket
for Lancashire reflects in part Tommy Greenhough's unfashionable
bowling style, a leg spinner in an era when the more defensive
finger spin was in vogue. He bowled from a long run, and imparted
considerable spin. He took 5 wickets at Lords against India, and
16 wickets in his four Tests, but this was not enough to ensure
regular selection. A career average of under 10 reflects his
skill with the bat (Dave Liverman, 1998)
