Profile:

The current captain of Subiaco-Floreat and a stalwart of Perth grade competition, Gavin Swan is a strapping right arm paceman and resourceful lower order batsman. Highly regarded and with an excellent record behind him at club level in Perth, the fair-haired Swan is a bowler who relies mainly upon his ability to seam the ball. He has worked consistently and conscientiously at his game over many years now and the result has been a steady improvement in the quality of his performances. Evidence of this continuing development came most clearly of all in the 1999-2000 season, when he made his state debut at the age of twenty-nine. That he captured the outstanding match figures of 6/94 in his one and only game (against South Australia in January) - to complement his collection of thirty-four wickets at the miserly average of thirteen in club competition - only served to reinforce the fact.
