Profile:Gerhardus Frederick Johannes Liebenberg Liebenberg has been in contention for some time, but only came of age in the 1995/96 season when he started the domestic season off in fine form with his first first-class double hundred. His form thereafter started to wane, but Liebenberg remains a player of class. As an opening batsman for his province, Free State, he will most probably fulfill this role for South Africa A in England. He will however, want to put his previous experience in England at the back of his mind, as he had a dreadful tour there in 1994 with the South African team. He still remains in contention for the opening berth or number three spot, but the onus is on him to produce high scores more consistently.
