StatsGuru Filters for Runako MortonArticles about Runako MortonProfile:Runako Morton is an uncomplicated hitter. A big right-hander, he is capable of tearing an attack apart. Though he has struggled in international cricket thus far, the 24-year-old has the potential to become a dangerous player.Morton broke into the Leeward Islands team in the 1997 season, bagging a pair on his first-class debut. His appearances were sporadic in the next two seasons, and his performances disappointing. The 2000 Busta Cup finally bought some success. He hit two half-centuries against Barbados, then 110 against a Jamaican attack including Courtney Walsh and Franklyn Rose. Morton was selected for the St. George's Cricket Academy in 2001. He was expelled for disciplinary reasons, and many thought he would struggle to pick his career up again. His rescue act was staggering. With a century and two fifties in the first two rounds of the 2002 Busta Cup, Morton was selected for the West Indies' one-day series with Pakistan at Sharjah. He struggled in two ODIs, unable to play his natural game. Unperturbed, Morton returned to the Leewards with another century. He finished the Busta Cup with an average pushing 70, and was picked to tour England with West Indies A. Hitting two fifties in five first-class games, Morton showed his talent in occasional bursts. He hit hard in both forms of the game, playing aggressively whatever the situation. (Sean Beynon, Copyright CricInfo September 2002)
