Profile:[2000/01 Season] Shayne O'Connor is a left arm outswing bowler who has suffered a rollercoaster ride on the fringes of the national team. He is constantly vying with a range of bowlers for the fourth seamer's spot and is always close to selection, particularly for Test cricket. O'Connor played four Tests and four One-Day Internationals last summer, his contribution spread across the India away series and the West Indies and Australia series at home. He put in an excellent performance against the Australians in the third Test when he took 5-51. He had a solid winter tour to Zimbabwe and South Africa and was retained for the Boxing Day Test against in The National Bank Series this summer. To date he has played a total of 18 Tests and 38 One-Day Internationals. |
