Profile:

The diminutive "Tich" Cornford (only just over 5 feet tall), was a solid county wicket-keeper for Sussex, known for his ability to stand up to the quick bowling of Tate and Gilligan. His 665 catches and 344 stumpings gave him a tidy career total of 1000 dismissals in first-class cricket in a 26 year career. He played his Test cricket in the first England-New Zealand series in 1929-30 (Dave Liverman, 1998).
