Profile:[2000/01 Season] Adam Parore's greatest strength is his double contribution to the New Zealand side as gloveman and a specialist batsman in his own right. Parore is one of New Zealand's most technically correct stroke-makers and is the most comfortable of the Kiwi batsmen facing up to spin bowling. During the 1999 calendar year Parore claimed the most Test dismissals in world cricket - 39. Last summer he experienced a particularly lean run with the bat in the one-day game and was not selected for the final two ODIs of the summer, breaking a sequence of 84 successive appearances in ODIs. Injury to his rival Chris Nevin and a welcome return to form behind the stumps has seen Parore win back his leading gloveman status over the winter. The experienced campaigner debuted for New Zealand as a 19-year-old in 1990. |
