Profile:
JE Benjamin
Born in St Kitts but raised in Birmingham, Joey Benjamin came
late to first-class cricket. He had few opportunities at
Warwickshire, but when he moved to Surrey his fast-medium bowling
developed to the extent that within 3 seasons he had achieved
Test status. A whole-hearted trier as a bowler, as a batsman his
methods tend to be robust rather than effective, so that he generally bats at number 11. He missed a substantial portion of the
1994 season through injury. He is 6` 2" tall.
