PROFILE When fingered as a maker of quality films, Atlantis Plastics willingly takes the wrap. The company's plastic films division (70% of sales) makes stretch film used to wrap pallets of material. The division also makes custom (laminating), converted, and embossed film for packaging, and institutional products such as aprons. Atlantis Plastics' molded plastics segment makes injection-molded thermoplastic parts used in appliances and cars; Whirlpool accounts for 43% of the segment's sales. The molded plastics segment also produces custom-extruded parts for recreational vehicles, residential windows, and other functional and trim applications.
