PROFILE KMG Chemicals can improve the quality of a tree's afterlife. The company makes and distributes wood preservatives used to treat fresh-cut lumber, railroad ties, and utility and telephone poles. Its products include penta, sodium penta, and creosote. KMG Chemicals sells penta and creosote in the US, primarily to the railroad, construction, and utility industries. Sodium penta is not registered for domestic sale, but is sold in Europe and Latin America. Hydrochloric acid, a by-product of penta manufacturing, is sold to the oil and steel industries.
