Itautec Philco is building a country of cyberzilians. A subsidiary of private conglomorate Investimentos Itau S.A. (Itausa), the company is a leading Brazilian maker of PCs, automated teller machines, and servers. Itautec Philco also makes consumer audio equipment, televisions, and VCRs. Its Itaucom division makes printed circuit boards, integrated circuits, and computer memory chips. Itautec Philco targets the banking and retail industries and offers consulting and integration services. The result of a 1994 merger between Itautec and Philco, the company mainly markets its products domestically, however it is expanding its sales to North America, Europe, and Asia.
