PROFILE Inergy has put its energy into acquiring propane companies (11 purchases since its founding in 1996). The company retails 50 million gallons of propane a year and sells wholesale 210 million gallons, under the names Bradley Propane, Country Gas, Hoosier Propane, and McCracken. It serves a retail base of 71,000 customers in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Inergy provides wholesale services to 350 distributors in 24 states, primarily in the US Midwest and Southeast, and sells and leases propane supplies and equipment to residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers.
