PROFILE ICU Medical also sees the future of infection prevention. The company's devices protect health care workers and patients from the spread of diseases such as HIV and hepatitis. ICU's primary products are intravenous (IV) connection devices that reduce the risk of needle sticks and disconnections; its CLAVE needleless IV connector accounts for more than 70% of sales. ICU also makes devices that prevent the backflow of blood into a catheter. Subsidiary Budget Medical Products makes custom IV sets that incorporate the CLAVE system. ICU has also launched Setfinder.com to sell IV sets online.
