PROFILE CCA Companies is building a business on losing. The company manages and owns a stake in the Suriname Palace Casino (50%) at the Plaza Hotel in Paramaribo, Suriname (located on the northern coast of South America). It is also developing a second casino on Sakhalin, a Russian island north of Japan (a region known for oil exploration). CCA holds rights to market the food preservative Preservit, but it is looking to sell that business. The company has agreed to buy Applied Gaming Solutions of Canada, an international operator of online lotteries, and will change its name to Emerging Market Solutions after the transaction closes.
