PROFILE Renco Group is a holding company for a diverse group of businesses. Its AM General subsidiary makes the HUMVEE, an extra-wide all-terrain vehicle used by the military, and the HUMMER, the HUMVEE's civilian counterpart. Renco Steel and WCI Steel manufacture, fabricate, and distribute steel. Other Renco Group companies include Doe Run, the world's #2 smelter; coal miner Rencoal; and Consolidated Sewing Machine, which manufactures industrial sewing machines.
