The Company also markets fragrances for women and men. The Company's brands include Claiborne, Crazy Horse, Curve and Dana Buchman, among others. In addition, the Company holds exclusive licenses to design, produce, market and sell DKNY Jeans and DKNY Active men's, junior's and women's sportswear, jeanswear and activewear in the Western Hemisphere, women's sportswear under the City DKNY trademark, women's apparel products under the Kenneth Cole New York, Unlisted.com and Reaction Kenneth Cole trademarks in North America and Candie's fragrance, cosmetic and beauty products worldwide. The Company operates the Wholesale Apparel, Wholesale Non-Apparel and Retail business segments.

Financial Summary
Liz Claiborne Inc., is engaged in the design and marketing of a broad range of fashion apparel, accessories, and fragrances. For the six months ended 6/30/01, net sales increased 6% to $1.55 billion. Net income remained flat at $78 million. Revenues reflect the inclusion of additional stores and acquisitions. Net income was partially offset by increased S/G/A expenses as a percentage of revenues due to higher marketing costs.
