Business Summary
Symons International Group, Inc. owns insurance companies that underwrite and market non-standard private passenger automobile insurance. Non-standard insureds are those individuals who are unable to obtain insurance coverage through standard market carriers due to factors such as poor premium payment history, driving experience or violations, particular occupation or type of vehicle. The Company is pursuing the sale of its crop insurance operations, and expects to complete the sale during the second quarter of 2001. The Company's principal insurance company subsidiaries are Pafco General Insurance Company (Pafco), Superior Insurance Company (Superior) and IGF Insurance Company (IGF). Pafco, IGF, Superior and Superior's subsidiaries are engaged in the writing of insurance coverage for automobile physical damage and liability policies. The Company offers several different policies that are directed towards different classes of risk within the non-standard market.

Financial Summary
SIGC owns insurance companies that underwrite and market non-standard private passenger automobile insurance. For the three months ended 3/01, revenues fell 55% to $22.5 million. Net loss applicable to Com. from continuing operations rose less than 1% to $9.4 million. Results reflect decreased gross premiums written for the non-standard automobile segment due to downsizing and slow growth of new business, partially offset by lower policy acquisition and S/G/A costs.
