ADVO, Inc. is a direct mail marketing company primarily engaged in soliciting and processing printed advertising from retailers, manufacturers and service companies for targeted distribution by both shared and solo mail, as well as hand delivery, to consumer households in the United States on a national, regional and local basis. ADVO also provides ancillary services in conjunction with its direct mail marketing programs and also provides private carrier (hand) delivery in certain markets. In addition, the Company provides direct-mail advertising solutions for local neighborhood businesses utilizing an envelope format. The Company's client base consists of national and local grocers, fast food chains, drug stores and local retailers.

Financial Summary
ADVO, Inc. is a direct marketing firm engaged in soliciting and processing printed advertising from retailers, manufacturers and service companies for targeted distribution. For the nine months ended 6/30/01, revenues increased 2% to $851.1 million. Net income rose 4% to $36.6 million. Revenues benefitted from growth in shared mail pieces delivered and pricing and volume gains. Earnings also reflects a decrease in bad debt provisions.
