Humana Inc. is a health services company that facilitates the delivery of health care services through networks of providers to approximately 5.9 million members, primarily through HMOs and PPOs. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total revenues fell 8% to $4.92 billion. Net income rose 30% to $52 million. Results reflect lower premium revenue due to the Company exiting numerous non-core markets and products, offset by improvements in the medical expense ratio.
