Piccadilly Cafeterias, Inc. is the largest cafeteria chain in the United States with 242 cafeterias in 16 states. The Company is the dominant cafeteria chain in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Company serves a diverse and extremely loyal customer base consisting of families, groups of friends and co-workers, senior citizens, couples and students. The Cafeterias provide a wide selection of convenient, healthy, freshly prepared "home cooked" meals at value-oriented prices for lunch and dinner.

Financial Summary
Piccadilly Cafeterias operates 244 Company-owned cafeterias and seafood restaurants in 17 states. For the nine months ended 3/31/01, net sales decreased 5% to $324.1 million. Net loss before extraordinary item totaled $27.1 million vs. an income of $735 thousand. Revenues reflect a decrease in same-store sales and same-store customer traffic. Net loss also reflects the inclusion of a $10.4 million provision for cafeteria impairments and closings and an increased interest expense.
