PSO opearates in several areas of international book and newspaper publishing, television, communications, and computer software. For the fiscal year ended 12/00, sales rose 16% to L3.87 billion. Net income according to U. S. GAAP, from cont ops and before extra item totaled L1.21 billion, up from L168M. Results reflect benefits from the acquisition of National Computer Systems and a U. S. GAAP credit of L1.03 billion vs. a charge of L126M.
