Hancock Holding Company is the bank holding company for its wholly owned banking subsidiaries, Hancock Bank, Gulfport, Mississippi (Hancock Bank MS) and Hancock Bank of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Hancock Bank LA) (collectively, the Banks). The Company operates 91 banking offices and 130 automated teller machines (ATMs) in the states of Mississippi and Louisiana. The Banks are community oriented and focus primarily on offering commercial, consumer and mortgage loans and deposit services to individuals and small- to middle-market businesses in their respective market areas.

Financial Summary
Hancock Holding Company is a bank holding company for Hancock Bank, MS, and Hancock Bank of Louisiana. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 6% to $112.5 million. Net interest income after loan loss provision fell 1% to $57.3 million. Net income fell 7% to $17.5 million. Results reflect the growth of the loan portfolio, offset by higher rates offered for certain types of deposit accounts and increased data processing expenses.
