Imax Corporation is an entertainment technology company with particular emphasis on film and digital imaging technologies, including giant screen images, 3-D presentations, post-production and digital projection. The Company designs and manufactures projection and sound systems for giant-screen (15/70-format) theaters based on proprietary and patented technology, and distributes films for giant-screen theaters. The Company, through its subsidiary Digital Projection International (DPI), also designs and manufactures digital image delivery systems in the form of digital projectors capable of projecting high-quality images on large screens from any video, computer or High Definition Television (HDTV) source.

Financial Summary
Imax Corp. designs and manufactures projection and sound systems for giant-screen theaters based on proprietary and patented technology and is a producer and distributor of films for giant-screen theaters. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues decreased 37% to $73.7 million. Net loss before accounting change totalled $25.2 million vs. income of $6.5 million. Results reflect decreased sales of digital projection systems, and $12.9 million in restructuring charges.
