Nike, Inc. designs, develops and markets high quality footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessory products. Nike is the largest seller of athletic footwear and athletic apparel in the world. The Company sells its products to approximately 19,000 retail accounts in the United States and through a mix of independent distributors, licensees and subsidiaries in approximately 140 countries around the world. Virtually all of its products are manufactured by independent contractors. Most footwear products are produced outside the United States, while apparel products are produced both in the United States and abroad.

Financial Summary
Nike, Inc. designs, develops and markets high quality footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessory products. For the fiscal year ended 5/31/01, revenues increased 5% to $9.49 billion. Net income increased 2% to $589.7 million. Revenues benefitted from increased international regional footwear, apparel and equipment sales. Earnings were partially offset by an increase in interest expense attributable to higher debt levels.
