Business Summary
Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc. consists of a landholding and operating parent company as well as its principal wholly owned subsidiaries, Maui Pineapple Company, Ltd. and Kapalua Land Company, Ltd. The most significant of the Companies joint ventures is Kaahumanu Center Associates, the owner and operator of a regional shopping center. The industry segments of the Company include the Pineapple segment, Resort segment and Commercial & Property segment. The Pineapple segment owns and operates fully integrated facilities for the production of pineapple products. Kapalua Land Company, Ltd. is the developing and operating subsidiary of the Company's Resort segment, which operates Kapalua Resort. The Commercial & Property segment operates Kaahumanu Center, a retail and entertainment center on Maui.

Financial Summary
Maui Land and Pineapple Co. operates in three primary businesses: the growing and canning of pineapples, the development and sale of resort real estate, and management of commercial and property real estate. For the six months ended 6/01, revenues rose 19% to $78 million. Net income fell 53% to $1 million. Results reflect increased case volume and average pricing in the Pineapple segment offset by higher production, marketing and administrative expenses.
