Henry Schein, Inc. is a distributor of healthcare products and services to office-based healthcare practitioners in the combined North American and European markets. The Company conducts its business principally through two segments: healthcare distribution and technology. The healthcare distribution segment consists of the Company's dental, medical, veterinary and international groups. The international group is comprised of the Company's healthcare distribution business units located primarily in Europe and the Pacific Rim, and offer products and services to dental, medical and veterinary customers located in their respective geographic regions. The technology segment consists primarily of the Company's practice management software business and certain other value-added products and services, which are distributed primarily to healthcare professionals in the North American market.

Financial Summary
Henry Schein, Inc. is a distributor of healthcare products and services to office-based healthcare practitioners in North America and Europe. The Company's products include dental, medical and veterinary items. For the 26 weeks ended 6/30/01, net sales rose 7% to $1.2 billion. Net income rose 26% to $35 million. Results reflect continued strong growth in the Medical Group, improved operating margins and the absence of $585 thousand of merger and integration costs.
