Fargo Electronics, Inc. is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of desktop systems that personalize plastic identification cards by printing images and text onto the cards, laminating them and electronically encoding them with information. The Company also sells the consumable supplies, such as ink ribbons, overlaminates and blank cards that are used with its systems. The Company distributes its products through a network of distributors and resellers in more than 75 countries. Fargo manufactures two different product series, Professional Series and Persona Series, with a variety of options within each series. The Professional Series includes high-definition printing printers, while the Persona Series includes direct-to-card printers. The Company sells its products to resellers that offer its products to end users typically as part of an integrated system that may also include a digital camera, a computer with card design software and other equipment manufactured by other companies.

Financial Summary
Fargo Electronics is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of desktop systems that personalize plastic identification cards. Fargo also sells the consumable supplies used with their systems. For the six months ended 6/01, revenues rose 8% to $30.1 million. Net income applicable to Common rose 39% to $1.6 million. Revenues reflect higher plastic card personalization product sales. Earnings also reflect reduced R and D salary expense and lower debt levels.
