Business Summary
Olin Corporation is a manufacturer concentrated in three business segments: Chlor Alkali Products, Metals and Winchester. The Chlor Alkali Products segment includes chlorine and caustic soda, sodium hydrosulfite and high strength bleach products. The Metals segment includes copper and copper alloy sheet, strip, welded tube and fabricated parts, and stainless steel strip. The Metals segment also includes a network of metals service centers in the continental United States and Puerto Rico. Winchester products include sporting ammunition, canister powder, reloading components, small caliber military ammunition and industrial cartridges.

Financial Summary
OLN manufactures chemicals, metals and ammunitions, including chlor-alkali products, pool chemicals, biocides and sulfuric acid, image forming and related specialty chemicals, copper and copper alloy sheet, strip, rod, canister powder and others. For the six months ended 6/30/01, sales fell 15% to $658.7 million. Net income fell 79% to $9 million. Results reflect a negative impact from soft economy and higher administrative expenses, primarily pension and bad debt expenses.
