Business Summary
Wisconsin Energy Corporation conducts its operations primarily in three operating segments: a utility energy segment, a non-utility energy segment and a manufacturing segment. The Company's primary subsidiaries are Wisconsin Electric Power Company, Wisconsin Gas Company and WICOR Industries, Inc. The Company's utility business provides electricity, gas and water services. The non-utility energy segment is involved in the development, ownership and operation of independent electric generating facilities; natural gas purchasing and marketing; and others. The Company's manufacturing segment produces pumps, water treatment products and fluid handling equipment with manufacturing, sales and distribution facilities in 14 countries. Other non-utility operating subsidiaries are involved in developing and marketing recycling technologies, and developing and investing in real estate.

Financial Summary
WEC, a holding company, is principally engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electric energy, gas and steam to customers in east central and northern WI and the upper peninsula of MI. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 60% to $2.21 billion. Net income before acct. change rose 53% to $123.4 million. Results reflect the acquisition of Wicor and higher gas prices, partially offset by reduced operating margins.
