Business Summary
Checkpoint Systems, Inc. is a multinational manufacturer and marketer of integrated system solutions for retail security, labeling, and merchandising. The Company's products and services can be categorized into three groups: Security, Labeling Services, and Retail Merchandising. The Company's historical business is retail security. Its diversified security product lines are designed to help retailers prevent inventory losses caused by theft (both by customers and employees) and reduce selling costs through lower staff requirements. Labeling services is another core business for the Company and generated 20% of the Company's revenue in the year 2000. Services range from full color branding labels to tracking labels and ultimately fully integrated labels that include a RF circuit. Retail merchandising includes hand-held label applicators and tags, promotional displays and queuing systems.

Financial Summary
CKP is a manufacturer and marketer of retail asset tracking and protection products including integrated security, automatic indentification and retail merchandising solutions. For the 26 weeks ended 7/1/01, revenues fell 2% to $325.9 million. Net income before accounting change totaled $9.7 million up from $312 thousand. Results reflect an increase in European hypermarket and supermarket segment sales, the effects of a cost savings initiative and lower integration charges.
