Pfizer Inc. is a research-based, global pharmaceutical company. The Company discovers, develops, manufactures and markets medicines for humans and animals, as well as consumer products. The Company operates in two business segments: Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Products. The Pharmaceuticals Segment includes the Animal Health Group and the Consumer Healthcare Division, as well as Capsugel, a producer of two-piece capsules used in manufacturing prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and nutritional supplements. In 2000, the Pharmaceuticals Segment had eight products with sales in excess of $1 billion each: Lipitor, Norvasc, Zoloft, Neurotonin, Celebrex, Zithromax, Viagra and Diflucan. The Consumer Products Segment includes the Adams Division, which markets a broad range of confectionery products.

Financial Summary
Pfizer Inc. is a global pharmaceutical and consumer products company which discovers, develops, manufactures and markets innovative medicines for humans and animals. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total revenues rose 8% to $15.33 billion. Net income from continuing operations totaled $3.72 billion, up from $945 million. Results reflect increased sales of Lipitor, Neurontin, Zyrtec and Norvasc and a $1.79 billion reduction in costs related to the merger with Warner-Lambert.
