Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. currently owns all the capital stock of one commercial bank and one trust company, serving small and mid-sized communities in eastern, central, south central Kentucky, and southern West Virginia. Through its subsidiaries, the Company engages in a wide range of commercial and personal banking activities, which include accepting time and demand deposits; making secured and unsecured loans to corporations, individuals and others; providing cash management services to corporate and individual customers; issuing letters of credit; renting safe deposit boxes and providing funds transfer services.

Financial Summary
CTBI is a bank holding company for Community Trust Bank, N.A., a federally chartered bank with 60 offices throughout Kentucky. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 8% to $91.9 million. Net interest income after loan loss provision fell 3% to $36.9 million. Net income rose 2% to $11.2 million. Net interest income reflects increased earning assets, offset by a higher cost of funds. Earnings reflect higher gains on the sale of loans.
