Business Summary
KeySpan Corporation is a holding company engaged in the business of gas distribution, conducted by its six regulated gas distribution subsidiaries that operate in three states in the Northeast, including New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The Company is also a generator of electricity. The Company's other subsidiaries are involved in gas and oil exploration and production; gas storage; wholesale and retail gas and electric marketing; appliance service; heating, ventilation and air conditioning installation and services; large energy-system ownership, installation and management; engineering services; fiber-optic services; energy-related Internet activities; fuel cells, and marine transportation, including the barge-hauling of fuel and other cargo. The Company also invests in, and participates in the development of, pipelines and other energy-related projects, domestically and internationally.

Financial Summary
KSE distributes natural gas, owns investments in gas exploration and production operations, provides gas marketing and energy services, generates electricity, and provides distribution services. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 79% to $4.05 billion. Net income applicable to Common rose 2% to $215.3 million. Results reflect the acquisitions of Eastern's and ENI's operations, partially offset by increased purchased gas expenses.
