Business Summary
American Pacific Corporation is principally engaged in the production of a specialty chemical, ammonium perchlorate (AP), which is used as an oxidizing agent in composite solid propellants for rockets, booster motors and missiles. The Company also produces a variety of other specialty chemicals and environmental protection equipment for niche applications, including other perchlorate chemicals used principally in explosives and the inflation of automotive airbags; sodium azide, used in the inflation of automotive airbags and certain pharmaceutical applications; Halotron products, used to extinguish fires; and water treatment equipment, used to disinfect effluents from sewage treatment and industrial facilities and for the treatment of seawater. In addition, the Company has interests in two real estate assets in the Las Vegas, Nevada, area.

Financial Summary
American Pacific is engaged in the production of ammonium perchlorate, a specialty chemical that is used as an oxidizing agent in composite solid propellants for rockets, booster motors and missiles. For the nine months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 23% to $42.1 million. Net income before extraordinary item fell 67% to $3.0 million. Revenues reflect lower perchlorate and sodium azide shipments. Net income also reflects increased power costs and the lack of tax benefits.
