Camden National Corporation is a publicly held, multi-bank, financial institution holding company, which makes its products services available directly and indirectly through its subsidiaries, Camden National Bank (CNB), UnitedKingfield Bank (UnitedKingfield) and Trust Company of Maine, Inc. (TCOM). CNB is a national banking association which focuses primarily on attracting deposits from the general public through its branches and using such deposits to originate residential mortgage loans, commercial business loans, commercial real estate loans, and a variety of consumer loans. UnitedKingfield focuses primarily on attracting deposits from the general public through its branches and using such deposits to originate residential mortgage loans, commercial business loans, commercial real estate loans, and a variety of consumer loans. Trust Company of Maine, Inc. TCOM, a majority owned subsidiary of the Company, is a nondepository trust company.

Financial Summary
CAC is a multi-bank and financial services holding company headquartered in Camden, ME. For the three months ended 3/31/01, interest income rose 11% to $20.8 million. Net interest income after loan loss prov. rose 3% to $9.6 million. Net income rose 13% to $3.6 million. Net interest income after LLP reflects higher loan volume and yields. Net income also reflects higher income from service charges and merchant assessment fees and a $427 thousand unrealized gain on derivative instruments.
