Business Summary
Flowers Foods, Inc. produces and markets frozen and non-frozen bakery and dessert products. Flowers Foods consists of Flowers Bakeries and Mrs. Smith's Bakeries. Flowers Bakeries markets its packaged bakery products in the super-regional 16-state area in the southeastern United States under brand names such as Nature's Own and Cobblestone Mill. The Company also markets fresh bread under regional franchised brands such as Sunbeam, Roman Meal, Evangeline Maid and Bunny. Pastries, doughnuts, bakery snacks, cakes and English muffins are sold through the Company's direct store door distribution system, as well as under the ButterKrust, Sunbeam and Holsum trademarks. Mrs. Smith's frozen desserts are marketed throughout the United State and are sold at retail under the Mrs. Smith's, Pet-Ritz, Oregon Farms and Oronoque Orchard brand names. Frozen desserts in the foodservice channel are sold under the Grand Finales brand and under private labels for foodservice customers, such as Sysco.

Financial Summary
FLO is one of the largest producers and marketers of a full line of frozen and non-frozen bakery and dessert products in the United States. Flowers Foods consists of Flowers Bakeries and Mrs. Smith's Bakeries. For the 28 weeks ended 7/01, revenues rose 4% to $836.2 million. Net loss from continuing operations before extraordinary item rose 20% to $22 million. Results reflect an increase in Flowers Bakeries' sales, offset by the inclusion of a $31.1 million non-recurring charge.
