Business Summary
Delphi Financial Group Inc. is a holding company whose subsidiaries provide integrated employee benefit services. Delphi manages all aspects of employee absence to enhance the productivity of its clients and provides the related insurance coverages: long-term and short-term disability, excess and primary workers' compensation, group life and travel accident. The Company's asset accumulation business emphasizes individual annuity products. The Company offers its products and services in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The Company's two segments are group employee benefit products and asset accumulation products.

Financial Summary
DFG is an insurance holding company which, through its subsidiaries, offers a diverse portfolio of disability, life, workers compensation and personal accident insurance to employee benefit plans. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 1% to $325 million. Net income before extraordinary item fell 18% to $36.1 million. Revenues reflect higher premiums from core group employee benefit products. Lower income reflects increased benefits, claims and interest credited.
