Business Summary
Atchison Casting Corporation manufactures highly engineered metal castings and forgings that are utilized in a wide variety of products, including cars, trucks, gas, steam and hydroelectric turbines, mining equipment, locomotives, passenger rail cars, pumps, valves, army tanks, navy ships, paper-making machinery, oil field equipment, reactor vessels for plastic manufacturing, computer peripherals, office furniture, home appliances, satellite receivers and consumer goods. The Company has the ability to produce castings from a wide selection of materials, including carbon, low-alloy and stainless steel, gray and ductile iron, aluminum and zinc as well as the ability to manufacture parts in a variety of sizes, ranging from small die cast components for the computer industry that weigh a few ounces to mill stands for the steel industry that weigh up to 280 tons.

Financial Summary
Atchison Casting Corp. manufactures engineered metal castings and forgings that are utilized in products such as cars, trucks, mining equipment, turbines and consumer goods. For the nine months ended 3/31/01, revenues fell 7% to $321.9 million. Net loss before acct. change totaled $8.5 million, vs. an income of $3 million. Results reflect reduced sales to the automotive, mining, military and power generation markets and fees, audit and appraisal expenses of $1 million.
