Weirton Steel Corporation is an integrated producer of flat-rolled carbon steel. The Company offers a wide range of rolled carbon steel products, including hot- and cold-rolled sheet steel and both hot-dipped and electrolytic-galvanized products, as well as a broad line of coated steels, including tin plate, chrome coated and black plate. The Company's products emphasize the narrow to medium widths, up to 48 inches wide, reflective of its rolling and finishing equipment. The Company's products cover a broad range of gauges, finishes and performance specifications.

Financial Summary
Weirton Steel Corp. is an integrated domestic steelmaker which produces carbon steel from raw materials. WS products include rolled sheet steel, galvanized products and coated steels. For the six months ended 6/30/01, sales fell 22% to $492.3 million. Net loss totaled $293.1 million vs. an income of $1.2 million. Results reflect the residual effect of unfairly priced imports, the slowing domestic economy, and continued high energy costs.
