German American Bancorp is a multi-bank holding company. The Company operates five affiliated community banks with 27 banking offices and five full-service independent insurance agencies in the eight contiguous Southwestern Indiana counties of Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Martin, Perry, Pike and Spencer. The Company's lines of business include retail and commercial banking, mortgage banking, trust and brokerage services, title insurance, and a full range of personal and corporate property and casualty insurance products. The Company's primary source of funding is its base of core customer deposits.

Financial Summary
German American Bancorp is a multi-bank holding company based in Jasper, Indiana. For the six months ended 6/30/01, interest income decreased 5% to $37.4 million. Net interest income after loan loss provision fell 3% to $16.1 million. Net income rose 6% to $4.9 million. Net interest income reflects lower average loan volumes, partially offset by lower interest paid on deposits. Earnings reflect higher insurance revenues.
