Financial Summary
Silicon Valley Bancshares is a bank holding company for Silicon Valley Bank. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income decreased 3% to $173.8 million. Net interest income after loan loss provision increased 9% to $140.8 million. Net income fell 35% to $57.5 million. Net interest income reflects decreased interest earning assets, offset by a lower provision for loan losses. Earnings reflect lower income from the disposition of warrants.
