Business Summary
AEP Industries Inc. manufactures and markets polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride and polypropylene flexible packaging products with consumer, industrial and agricultural applications. Flexible packaging and film products are thin, ductile bags, sacks, labels and films used for food and non-food consumer, agricultural and industrial items. The flexible packaging and film products manufactured by the Company are used in a variety of industries, including the packaging, transportation, beverage, food, automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical, electronics, construction, agricultural and textile industries. The Company's manufacturing operations are located in 11 countries in North America, Europe and the Asia/ Pacific Region.

Financial Summary
AEP Industries is an international manufacturer and marketer of plastic films for use in the packaging, transportation, beverage, food, automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical and textile industries. For the six months ended 4/31/01, net sales fell 8% to $321 million. Net loss totaled $4.1 million, up from $1.6 million. Revenues reflect lower sales volume and prices in North America. Higher loss also reflects a $6.5 million loss on the sale of the Hitachi Filtec joint venture.
