Cardinal Financial Corporation is a bank holding company. The Company's four bank subsidiaries (collectively, the Banks) are as follows: Cardinal Bank, N.A., Cardinal Bank - Manassas/Prince William, N.A., Cardinal Bank - Dulles, N.A., and Cardinal Bank - Potomac. The Company also has an investment advisory subsidiary, Cardinal Wealth Services, Inc. The Banks engage in the commercial banking business in their respective communities. Each Bank provides personalized banking services, with emphasis on the financial needs and objectives of individuals, professionals and small to medium-sized businesses. Additionally, substantially all credit and related decisions are made by the Banks' local management and board of directors, thereby facilitating prompt response.

Financial Summary
CFNL is a bank holding company for Cardinal Bank, with offices in Fairfax, Virginia. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 96% to $8.1 million. Net interest income after loan loss provision rose 91% to $4.1 million. Net loss applicable to Common remained flat at $1.8 million. Net interest income reflects an increase in loans receivable, partially offset by higher interest on deposits. Earnings were partially offset by an increase in salary expenses.
