Business Summary
CNF, Inc. is a management company of global supply chain services. The continuing operations of the Company comprise four business segments, Con-Way Transportation Services, Emery Worldwide, Menlo Logistics and Other. Con-Way provides regional one- and two-day less-than-truckload freight trucking throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, expedited and guaranteed ground transportation and integrated supply chain services. Emery provides expedited and deferred domestic and international air cargo services, ocean delivery and customs brokerage. Menlo is a full-service contract logistics company that specializes in developing and managing complex distribution networks. The Other segment consists primarily of Road Systems, a trailer manufacturer, and Vector SCM, a joint venture formed with General Motors in December 2000.

Financial Summary
CNF is a management company of global supply chain services with businesses in regional less-than-truckload trucking, domestic and international air freight, postal sortation, and trailer manufacturing. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 7% to $2.54 billion. Net loss before acct. change and applicable to Common totalled $214.4 million vs. an income of $79.9 million. Results reflect lower revenues from Con-Way and Emery and a $340.5 million restructuring charge.
