Sonic Solutions primarily develops, markets and supports workstations used by professionals to edit and process digital audio and digital video information. The Company's workstation products always include applications software and often include plug-in hardware installed on a personal computer. Sonic's customers use various kinds of peripheral devices, such as disk drives, streaming tape drives, audio and video tape recorders and CD and DVD recorders, along with the Company's products. The Company currently markets two professional workstation product lines: DVD Creator for DVD-Video production and SonicStudio for digital audio production.

Sonic Solutions develops workstations used by professionals to edit, process and manipulate digital sound, images, moving pictures and text in computer based settings. For the three months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 16% to $4.2 million. Net loss applicable to Common rose 32% to $1.7 million. Revenues reflect decreased sales of audio products. Higher loss reflects an increase in bad debt expense and a business integration charge.
