Financial Summary
SBIB, a bank holding company, provides commercial and retail banking services primarily in the Houston metropolitan area. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 6% to $80.3 million. Net interest income after loan loss prov. rose 14% to $50.1 million. Net income rose 13% to $14.3 million. Net interest income reflects increased average loans and higher interest margin. Higher income was partially offset by increased salaries and benefit costs.
