Business Summary
Commscope, Inc. is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of coaxial, fiber optic and other high-performance electronic cable products for cable television, telephony, Internet access and wireless communications. The Company supplies coaxial cable for broadvand cable networks using Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) architecture. The Company a manufacturer and supplier of coaxial cable for HFC cable networks. The Company is also a supplier of fiber optic cables primarily for HFC cable networks and has developed specialized, proprietary fiber optic products for telecommunications applications. The Company is a supplier of coaxial cable for telephone central office switching and transmission applications, as well as video distribution applications such as satellite television and security surveillance. In addition, the Company has developed a line of coaxial cables for wireless communication infrastructure applications that have superior performance characteristics compared to traditional cables.

Financial Summary
CTV is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of coaxial cable for cable and satellite television and other broadband video distribution applications. CTV also manufactures and markets electrical and optical cable. For the six months ended 6/01, net sales fell 6% to $417.3 million. Net income fell 42% to $22.6 million. Revenues reflect a slowdown in telecommunications spending. Net income also reflects the inclusion of a $12.6 million impairment charge.
