CMS Energy Corporation is a diversified energy company operating in the United States and in selected growth markets around the world. Its two principal subsidiaries are Consumers and Enterprises. Consumers is a public utility that provides natural gas and/or electricity to almost six million of the 9.9 million residents in Michigan's lower peninsula. Enterprises, through subsidiaries, is engaged in several energy businesses in the United States and in approximately 20 countries on five continents.

Financial Summary
CMS Energy Corporation is the holding company for Consumers, a public utility providing electric and gas service in Michigan, and Enterprises, which is engaged in the production of oil and gas. For the six months ended 6/01, revenues totalled $8.55 billion, up from $3.42 billion. Net income before acct. change. rose 2% to $162 million. Results reflect increased marketing and trading revenues, partially offset by increased purchased power expenses.
