Business Summary
Enamelon, Inc. develops and markets oral care products that help stop cavities before they begin. The Company's products are based on proprietary formulations and technologies that have been shown in laboratory and human studies to enhance remineralization of tooth enamel and to prevent early stage tooth decay. The Company's toothpaste contains sodium fluoride in a formulation with calcium and phosphate ions, to enhance the remineralization of tooth enamel. The Company offers Enamelon All-Family toothpaste and Enamelon Calcium Whitening System toothpaste. In order to dispense its toothpaste products, the Company has developed a dual-chamber toothpaste tube that simultaneously dispenses two formulations. The tube maintains separation between the two component formulations until they are dispensed. In September 2000, the Company converted the involuntary petition filed against it on July 14, 2000 to a voluntary petition pursuant to Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

ENML develops and markets over-the-counter oral care products based on proprietry formulations and technologies. ENMLE's products are intended to stop cavities before they begin. For the fiscal year ended 12/31/99, revenues rose 16% to $16.6 million. Net loss applicable to Common fell 35% to $18.8 million. Revenue reflects the the launch of the Calcium Whitening System toothpaste. Lower loss reflects decreases in consumer advertising media and other promotional expenses.
