Business Summary
Comstock Resources, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, is an independent energy company engaged in the acquisition, development, production and exploration of oil and natural gas properties, with an increasing focus on exploration. The Company's oil and natural gas reserve base is entirely concentrated in the Gulf of Mexico, Southeast Texas and East Texas/North Louisiana regions. The Company's reserve base is 74% natural gas and 68% proved reserves, developed on a Bcfe basis, as of December 31, 2000. The estimated proved oil and natural gas reserves are 402.5 Bcfe, with an estimated Present Value of Proved Reserves of $1.8 billion, as of December 31, 2000, and the Company operates 73% of the Present Value of Proved Reserves of its properties.

Financial Summary
CRK is engaged in the acquisition, production and exploration of oil and natural gas properties in Texas, Louisiana, and the Gulf of Mexico. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues increased 59% to $114.1 million. Net income applicable to Common totaled $36.0 million, up from $12.0 million. Revenues reflect an increase in production and higher natural gas prices. Earnings also benefited from improved operating margins.
