Business Summary
Three-Five Systems, Inc. designs and manufactures display modules for use in the end products of original equipment manufacturers. The Company specializes in custom liquid crystal display (LCD) components and technology, and collaborates with its customers in providing design and manufacturing services. Three-Five's LCD modules are used in mobile handsets and other wireless communication devices, as well as in the data collection, medical electronics and other commercial and consumer marketplaces. In addition to its traditional LCD module business, the Company is pursuing the commercialization of its liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) microdisplays, following three years of research and development. The Company markets its services in North America, Europe and Asia, primarily through a direct technical sales force.

Financial Summary
TFS designs and manufactures a wide range of display modules for use in the end products of original equipment manufacturers. The Co. specializes in liquid crystal display components and technology. For the six months ended 6/30/01, sales fell 28% to $60.6 million. Net loss totaled $11.1 million, vs. an income of $8 million. Revenues reflect weakened demand for cellular handsets. Net losses also reflect pricing pressures and the write-off's of an investment in Inviso and certain inventory.
