Business Summary
DSL.net, Inc. provides high-speed data communications, Internet access and related services to small and medium-sized businesses, primarily using digital subscriber line (DSL) technology. The Company primarily targets select second- and third-tier cities for the deployment of its own local DSL equipment. As of March 15, 2001, the Company had installed equipment in over 375 cities. In first-tier cities and certain other markets where the Company has not deployed its own equipment, it utilizes the local DSL facilities of other carriers to provide service. The Company's networks enable data transport over existing copper telephone lines at speeds of up to 1.5 megabits per second. Customers typically pay an installation charge and a monthly fee for the service. The monthly fee includes the cost of standard equipment installed at the customer's site, all phone line charges and general Internet access services.

Financial Summary
DSL.net provides high-speed data communications and Internet access services using digital subscriber line, or DSL, technology to small and medium sized businesses, targeting select second and third tier cities with populations less than 900,000. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenue totaled $19.2 million, up from $4.9 million. Net loss rose 81% to $82.8 million. Results reflect strong demand from businesses, offset by higher network and depreciation costs.
