Bio Plexus, Inc. is engaged in the design, development and manufacture of safety medical products used by healthcare professionals. The Company manufactures and sells three types of blood collection needles, three types of needle holders and a needle disposal container, which are marketed under the Punctur-Guard and Drop-It trade names. The safety blood collection needle utilizes a patented technology that greatly reduces the risk of accidental needle sticks by internally blunting the needle prior to removal from the patient. The Company's primary focus has been the design, development, testing and evaluation of its safety blood collection needle, and the design and development of the molds, machinery and systems used to manufacture the blood collection needle. In March 2001, The Company filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

Financial Summary
Bio-Plexus, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures and sells safety medical products, focusing on its Punctur-Guard series of safety blood collection needles. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 25% to $2.9 million. Net loss fell 9% to $5.2 million. Revenues reflect sales incentives offered to major customers. Lower loss reflects decreased interest expenses primarily from the reduction of expenses associated with the closing of the Permanent Financing.
