Business Summary
Canyon Resources Corporation explores, acquires, develops and mines precious metal and other mineral properties. The Company is involved in all phases of the mining business from early stage exploration, exploration drilling, development drilling, feasibility studies and permitting, through construction, operation and final closure of mining projects. Canyon has gold production operations in the Western United States, and conducts exploration activities in the search for additional valuable mineral properties in the Western United States, as well as in a number of areas in Latin America and Africa. The Company's exploration and development efforts emphasize precious metals (gold and silver). Until December 31, 1998, the Company also had industrial mineral production operations (diatomite and pumice) in the Western United States.

Financial Summary
Canyon Resources Corp. is a Colorado based company egaged in the exploration, acquisition, development and mining of precious metals and other mineral properties. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 22% to $13.5 million. Net loss totalled $2.7 million, up from $665 thousand. Revenues reflect a decrease in average selling prices per ounce of gold and silver. Net loss also reflects a $455 thousand loss on derivative instruments.
