Business Summary
Cameco Corporation is the world's largest uranium producer and is also one of the largest commercial providers of uranium conversion services in the world. Cameco sells its uranium for use by electric utilities in the nuclear generation of electricity. In addition to uranium mining, Cameco is one of the four commercial converters of uranium to 'UF6' (uranium hexafluoride) in the Western World and the principal supplier of services to convert Uranium concentrates to UO2 (uranium dioxide). Although Cameco continues its focus on the uranium business, the Company is also in the gold business. Cameco has brought into commercial production the large Kumtor gold project in the Kyrgyzstan Republic in Central Asia.

Financial Summary
Cameco Corporation is engaged in the production and exploration of uranium and gold. CCJ sells its uranium exclusively for use by electric utilities in the nuclear generation of electric power. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues decreased 32% to C$208.7 million. Net income applicable to Common fell 36% to C$12.9 million. Results reflect lower volumes and realized prices for uranium concentrates and higher administrative expenses.
