Business Summary
Agrium, Inc. is a producer and marketer of fertilizer in North America and a major retail supplier of agricultural products and services in both North America and Argentina. The Company conducts substantially all its operations through direct and indirect wholly owned subsidiaries and the Agrium Partnership. Nitrogen fertilizers are produced at the Company's six plants located in Carseland, Fort Saskatchewan, Joffre and Redwater, Alberta; Borger, Texas; and Beatrice, Nebraska. Sulphur and phosphate fertilizers are produced at the Redwater plant and phosphate fertilizers are also produced at an additional plant in Conda, Idaho. Agrium owns and operates two phosphate rock mines in Ontario and Idaho and one phosphate rock mill in Ontario. The Company operates a potash mine and production facility at Vanscoy, Saskatchewan. The Company also has a 50% interest with YPF in Profertil, which is constructing a world-scale nitrogen production facility in Argentina.

Financial Summary
AGU owns and operates nitrogen production facilities in Alberta, Texas and Nebraska, phosphate production facilities in Alberta and Idaho, phosphate rock mine in Idaho and Kapuskasing, Ontario, potash mine and mill in Saskatchewan. For the six months ended 6/30/01, net sales rose 17% to $1.18 billion. Net income applicable to Common increased 12% to $46.6 million. Results reflect higher international nitrogen sales,partially offset by higher natural gas prices.
