Citigroup Inc. is a financial holding company with businesses that provide a broad range of financial services to consumer and corporate customers in over 100 countries and territories. Global Consumer delivers banking, lending and investment services. Global Corporate and Investment Bank provides corporations, governments, institutions and investors with financial products and services. The Global Investment Management and Private Banking segment is comprised of Citigroup Asset Management (Smith Barney Asset Management, Salomon Brothers Asset Management and Citibank Asset Management, along with the pension administration businesses of Global Retirement Services) and The Citigroup Private Bank. The Company's Investment Activities segment consists of its venture capital activities, and realized investment gains and losses related to certain corporate and insurance-related investments. Corporate/Other includes net corporate treasury results, corporate staff and other corporate expenses.

Financial Summary
Citigroup, Inc. provides a range of financial services, including banking, insurance and investment services, to consumer and corporate customers around the world. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 12% to $33.94 billion. Net interest income after loan loss prov. rose 17% to $12.99 billion. Net income appl. to Com. before acct. chg. rose 1% to $7.17 billion. Results reflect higher earning asset balances, partially offset by lower other income.
