Business Summary
Central Coast Bancorp, located in Salinas, California, is the bank holding company for Community Bank of Central California (the Bank). The Bank offers a full range of commercial banking services, including the acceptance of demand, savings and time deposits, and the making of commercial, real estate (including residential mortgage), Small Business Administration, personal, home improvement, automobile and other installment and term loans. The Bank also offers personal and business Visa credit cards, as well as automated teller machine (ATM) and Visa debit cards, travelers' checks, safe deposit boxes, notary public, customer courier and other customary bank services. At year-end 2000, the Bank operated through its main office in Salinas, and through nine branch offices located in Castroville, Hollister, Gonzales, King City, Marina, Monterey, Salinas, Seaside and Watsonville, California.

Financial Summary
Central Coast Bancorp is a bank holding company for the Community Bank of Central California. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 9% to $26.4 million. Net interest income after loan loss prov. rose 14% to $16.4 million. Net income rose 18% to $5.1 million. Net interest income reflects higher interest earning asset balances and decreased loan losses provision expenses. Net income reflects increased service charges on deposits and fees for other services.
