Business Summary
Trinity Industries, Inc. is engaged in the manufacture, marketing, and leasing of a wide variety of products through the following five business segments: Railcar Segment; Inland Barge Segment; Parts and Services Segment; Construction Products Segment; and Industrial Products Segment. Trinity Industries also offers transportation services, and owns a captive insurance company, structural towers, and other peripheral businesses. The Company also has foreign operations in Mexico, Romania, Brazil, and Slovakia.

Financial Summary
TRN is engaged in the manufacture, marketing and leasing of a variety of products in the construction, transportation and industrial sectors. For the three months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 12% to $467.6 million. Net income decreased 54% to $9.6 million. Revenues suffered from significant weakening in demand for new railcars in North America. Net income also reflects sales price declines and inefficiencies related to lower volumes.
