Armstrong Holdings Inc. is the publicly held parent holding company of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) (collectively, Armstrong). Armstrong designs, manufactures and sells interior finishings, most notably floor coverings and ceiling systems, around the world. Armstrong products are sold primarily for use in the finishing, refurbishing and repair of residential, commercial and institutional buildings. Armstrong also designs, manufactures and sells kitchen and bathroom cabinets. AWI is operating its business and managing its properties as a debtor-in-possession subject to the provisions of the Bankruptcy Code.

Financial Summary
ACK, a holdings company, designs, manufacturers and sells interior furnishings, most notably floor coverings and ceiling systems, sold for use in residential, commercial and institutional buildings. For the six months ended 6/01, net sales fell 4% to $1.47 billion. Net income from continuing operations totaled $56.6 million vs. a loss of $77.6 million. Revenues reflect lower sales of floor coverings and wood products. Net income reflects reduced asbestos liability charges.
