Business Summary
Comerica Incorporated is a multistate financial services provider formed to acquire the outstanding common stock of Comerica Bank. As of December 31, 2000, Comerica owned, directly or indirectly all the outstanding common stock of seven banking and 35 non-banking subsidiaries. Comerica has strategically aligned its operations into the three major lines of the Business Bank, the Individual Bank and the Investment Bank. The Business Bank is comprised of middle market lending, asset-based lending, large corporate banking and international financial services. The Individual Bank includes consumer lending, consumer deposit gathering, mortgage loan origination and servicing, small business banking (annual sales under $5 million) and private banking. The Investment Bank is responsible for the sale of mutual fund and annuity products, as well as life, disability and long-term care insurance products.

Financial Summary
Comerica Incorporated is a registered bank holding company, focusing on three major lines of business: the business bank, the individual bank and the investment bank. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 2% to $1.82 billion. Net interest income after loan loss prov. rose 8% to $930.7 million. Net income applicable to Common fell 26% to $293.5 million. Results reflect loan growth and higher net interest margin, offset by a $108.4 million restructuring charge.
