Caremark Rx, Inc. is one of the largest pharmaceutical services companies in the United States, with net revenue of approximately $4.4 billion for 2000. The Company's operations are conducted through its wholly owned subsidiary Caremark Inc., which assists employers, insurance companies, unions, government employee groups, managed care organizations and other sponsors of health benefit plans and individuals throughout the United States in delivering prescription drugs in a cost-effective manner. During the year ended December 31, 2000, the Company managed over 68 million prescriptions for individuals from over 1,200 organizations.

Financial Summary
Caremark Rx, Inc. provides pharmacy benefit management services and therapeutic pharmaceutical services. For the six months ended 6/30/01, net revenues rose 29% to $2.75 billion. Net income from continuing operations applicable to Common totalled $74.3 million, up from $35.8 million. Revenues benefited from new customer contracts and growth in pharmacy claims processed. Net income also reflects lower interest expense attributable to the retirement of senior notes.
