US Airways Group, Inc.'s primary business activity is the ownership of the common stock of US Airways, Inc., Allegheny Airlines, Inc. Piedmont Airlines, Inc., PSA Airlines, Inc., Potomac Air, Inc., US Airways Leasing and Sales, Inc., Material Services Company, Inc., USLM Corporation and Airways Assurance Limited, LLC. US Airways, Inc. owns all of the common stock of US Airways Investment Management Company, Inc. and US Airways Finance Corporation. The Company's operations consist of two segments, US Airways and US Airways Express. US Airways is a certificated air carrier engaged primarily in the business of transporting passengers, property and mail. Nine air carriers have code share arrangements with US Airways to operate under the trade name "US Airways Express," including Allegheny, Piedmont, PSA and Potomac. US Airways provides reservations and, at certain stations, ground support and other services, in return for service fees.

Financial Summary
US Airways is an air carrier engaged in transporting passengers, property and mail. U also owns US Airways, Shuttle Inc., Alleghany, Piedmont, and PSA, Fuel Corp., US Airways Leasing and Sales, MSC and AAL. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 4% to $4.73 billion. Net loss before accounting change totaled $202 million, up from $35 million. Results reflect higher revenue passenger miles, offset by an increase in full-time employees and flight hours.
