Business Summary
Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. (PHI) is a provider of helicopter transportation services in the Gulf of Mexico, providing approximately 47% of all the contracted aircraft in the Gulf. PHI also provides helicopter services internationally and to non-oil and gas customers, such as emergency medical service providers and governmental agencies. The Company's Technical Services Unit provides maintenance and repair services to helicopter airframes and engines, and sells helicopter repair parts. The Company currently operates 279 aircrafts domestically and internationally. PHI operates under a variety of contractual arrangements to perform services that include transporting passengers and equipment, operating customer-owned aircraft, leasing aircraft to certain customers, consulting and the repair and maintenance of helicopters.

Financial Summary
PHEL is engaged in the transport of personnel, parts and equipment to, from and among offshore platforms for customers engaged in the oil and gas exploration, development and production industry. PHEL also provides air medical transportation services. For the three months ended 3/31/01, revenues rose 24% to $65.3 million. Net income totaled $46 thousand vs. a loss of $1.4 million. Results reflect an increase in domestic activity and lower S/G/A expenses as a percentage of sales.
