LM Ericsson Telephone Co. is engaged in international telecommunications, providing systems and products for fixed and mobile communications in public and private networks. The Company's broad range of data communications and telecommunication products includes systems and services for handling voice, data, images and text in public and private fixed-line and mobile networks, microelectronic components, defense electronics and telecommunications and power cables. From January 1, 1999, the Company has adopted a new organization with three customer-oriented business segments replacing the previous business areas: Network Operations and Service Providers, Consumer Products and Enterprise Solutions. In addition to these segments, the Company's other operations include Components, Cables, Defense Systems and other minor operations. The market organization is grouped in four market areas: Europe, Middle East and Africa; Latin America; North America, and Asia Pacific.

Financial Summary
LM Ericsson Telephone Company is an international manufacturer of advanced systems and products for wired and mobile communications in public and private networks. The Company also produces electronic defense systems. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 6% to SEK125.3 billion. Net loss before US GAAP totalled SEK13.81 billion vs. an income of SEK14.4BM. Results reflect decreased TDMA and PDC sales and $15 million in restructuring charges.
