Business Summary
Bell Canada International (BCI) owns, develops and operates advanced telecommunications networks in markets in Latin America. BCI's investments consist of wireless mobile operations in Latin America and CLEC services in Latin America. The Company's wireless mobile operations in Latin America include wireless operations in Colombia and the B-Band cellular operations of Americel and Telet in Brazil. BCI's CLEC operations in Latin America include fixed telephony and value-added services in Mexico, fixed telephony and value-added services in the northeast region and the São Paulo state in Brazil, cable television and private telephony services in Brazil, and broadband wireless access services in Venezuela. BCI previously operated in the Asia-Pacific market. The Company exited that market through a series of agreements that took effect in July and August 2000.

Financial Summary
Bell Canada International is a holding company that owns, develops and operates telecommunications companies in markets outside of Canada, with a focus on Latin America. For the six months ended 6/01, revenues rose 6% to C$251.2 million. Net loss from continuing operations rose 22% to C$291.4 million. Revenues reflect growth in the prepaid segment of the Brazilian and Colombian mobile companies. Higher loss reflects lower gross margins, higher depreciation and C$36 million in investment losses.
