Central Vermont Public Service Corp. engages in the purchase, production, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 13% to $151.9 million. Net income applicable to Common fell 54% to $3.4 million. Revenues reflect lower alliance resale sales due to reduced activity between alliance and Virginia Power and deseasonalized rates. Earnings suffered from higher service restoration costs related to service storm activity.
