The Company's solutions include software-enhanced wireless telephone, two-way radio and messaging products and systems, as well as networking and Internet-access products, for consumers, network operators and commercial, government and industrial customers; end-to-end systems for the delivery of interactive digital video, voice and high-speed data solutions for broadband operators; embedded semiconductor solutions for customers in the networking and computing, transportation, wireless communications and digital consumer/home networking markets; and embedded electronic systems for automotive, industrial, transportation, navigation, communications and energy systems markets.

Financial Summary
Motorola, Inc. manufactures and sells a diverse line of electronic equipment and components. Products include communications systems, semiconductors, electronic engine controls and computer systems. For the six months ended 6/01, net sales fell 15% to $15.27 billion. Net loss totaled $1.29 billion vs. an income of $652 million. Results reflect lower prices and unit sales at the Personal Communications segment, $569 million in inventory writedowns, and $860 million in reorganization expenses.
