Cemex, S.A. de C.V. is the third largest cement company in the world, based on installed capacity as of December 31, 1999 of approximately 65.4 million tons, and is the world's largest trader of cement and clinker, having traded over 13 million tons of cement and clinker in 1999. The Company is engaged, through its operating subsidiaries, primarily in the production, distribution, marketing and sale of cement, ready-mix concrete and clinker. Cemex is a global cement manufacturer, with operations in North, Central and South America, Europe, the Caribbean, Asia and Africa. As of December 31, 1999, the Company's main cement production facilities were located in Mexico, the United States, Spain, Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Venezuela, Colombia, the Panama, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.

Financial Summary
Cemex, S.A. de C.V., through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the production, distribution, marketing, and sale of cement, readymix concrete, aggregates and clinker. For the fiscal year ended 12/31/00, revenues rose 15% to PS54.07 billion. Earnings rose 2% to PS9.61 billion. Results reflect stronger dollar prices in Mexico, Phillippines and Colombia, higher domestic demand, and the consolidation of acquisitions in Egypt, partially offset by higher administrative expenses.
