Business Summary
C&F Financial Corporation is a bank holding company for Citizens and Farmers Bank (the Bank). The Company, through its subsidiaries, offers a wide range of banking services available to both individuals and small businesses. These services include various types of checking and savings deposit accounts, and the making of business, real estate, development, mortgage, home equity, automobile and other installment, demand and term loans. The Bank offers automated teller machines at its 11 Virginia branches, credit card services, trust services, travelers' checks, money orders, safe deposit rentals, collections, notary public, wire services and other customary bank services to its customers. The Bank has its main office in West Point, and has branch offices in Richmond, Norge, Middlesex, Providence Forge, Quinton, Tappahannock, Varina, Williamsburg (two branches) and West Point (two branches).

Financial Summary
C&F Financial Corp. is a one-bank holding company for Citizens and Farmers, a state bank in VA. For the three months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 12% to $14.1 million. Net interest income after loan loss provision rose 4% to $7.6 million. Net income rose 22% to $3.4 million. Net interest income reflects increased earning assets, partially offset by increased cost of funds. Earnings reflect an increase in volume of loans sold by C&F Mortgage Corporation.
