Pentair, Inc. is a diversified manufacturer operating in three segments on a global basis. The Tools segment manufactures and markets tool products positioned at the high-end of the market and targets professionals and upscale hobbyists. The Water segment manufactures and markets essential products for the transport and treatment of water, wastewater and fluids. The Enclosures segment designs, manufactures and markets customized and standard metal and composite enclosures that house and protect sensitive controls and components for markets including data communications, networking, telecommunications, automotive and general electronics.

Financial Summary
Pentair is a diversified manufacturer in three segments; Tools and Equipments, Water and Fluid Technology, and Electrical and Electronic Enclosures. PNR manufactures woodworking machinery; portable power tools; and electrical enclosures. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues decreased 1% to $1.37 billion. Net income from continuing operations before accounting change fell 32% to $49.1 million. Results reflect lower product sales, and the absence of $2.5 million in restructuring income.
