Business Summary
Century Aluminum Company is a producer of primary aluminum. Century's principal subsidiary, Century Aluminum of West Virginia, Inc., owns and operates a reduction facility located on the Ohio River in Ravenswood, West Virginia. Century Aluminum of West Virginia, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Berkeley Aluminum, Inc., also owns a 49.67% undivided interest in a reduction facility in Mt. Holly, South Carolina. Century's reduction facilities have an aggregate annual capacity of approximately 613 million pounds of primary aluminum. In 2000, Century produced 573 million pounds of primary aluminum.

Financial Summary
Century Aluminum Company is a North American producer of primary aluminum, including rolling ingot, t-ingot, extrusion billet, and foundry ingot. For the six months ended 6/30/01, net sales rose 46% to $299.6 million. Net income avail. to Common fell 68% to $4 million. Revenues reflect increased volumes from the Hawesville facility. Earnings were offset by the absence of a gain on sale of the fabricating business and a loss on forward contracts.
