Business Summary
Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) is a senior oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company based in Calgary, Alberta. The Company's operations are focused in Western Canada and in the North Sea and offshore West Africa with its wholly owned subsidiary, Ranger Oil Limited. CNRL produces heavy oil using two production recovery mechanisms, primary (cold) production and thermal (hot) production. The Company's assets are similarly distinguished by characteristics where these two types of production recovery mechanisms provide effective recovery of hydrocarbons and the optimum economic returns. In 1999, the Company completed the acquisition of BP Amoco's remaining Canadian properties. With the BP Amoco acquisition, CNRL now owns one of the largest bases of oil and natural gas in Canada. The two most significant properties acquired are at Bonnyville and Pelican Lake.

Financial Summary
Canadian Natural Resources Limited is a senior oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company. For the six months ended 6/30/01, net revenues rose 67% to C$1.70 billion. Net income applicable to Common increased 62% to C$513.9 million. Revenues reflect increased daily production and higher prices for natural gas. Net income was partially offset by increased international production and depletion, depreciation and amortization expenses.
