Business Summary
D. R. Horton Inc. is a national builder that is engaged primarily in the construction and sale of single-family housing in 39 markets and 23 states in the United States. The Company designs, builds and sells single-family houses on lots developed by it and on finished lots that it purchases, ready for home construction. Periodically, the Company sells lots it has developed. D. R. Horton also provides title agency and mortgage brokerage services to its homebuyers. It does not retain or service the mortgages that it originates but, rather, sells the mortgages and related servicing rights to investors. The Company builds homes under the names D.R. Horton, Arappco, Cambridge, Continental, Dobson, Mareli, Milburn, Regency, SGS, Torrey and Trimark.

Financial Summary
DHI is a national home builder that constructs and sells single-family homes in metropolitan areas of the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Southeast, Southwest and West regions of the U.S. DHI also provides title agency and mortgage brokerage services. For the nine months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 14% to $2.92 billion. Net income before accounting change rose 29% to $168.1 million. Results reflect strong housing demand, higher prices and reduced material costs.
