Entergy Corporation engages principally in domestic utility, power marketing and trading, global power development and domestic non-utility nuclear businesses. In 2000, Entergy placed the management of the power marketing and trading business under the global power development business, and the jointly managed businesses comprise its Entergy Wholesale Operations. The domestic utility is Entergy's predominant business segment, providing 74% of its revenue and 87% of its net income in 2000, and holding 81% of its assets, as of December 31, 2000. The Company has five wholly owned domestic retail electric utility subsidiaries, consisting of Entergy Arkansas, Entergy Gulf States, Entergy Louisiana, Entergy Mississippi and Entergy New Orleans.

Entergy Corporation is a holding company which engages principally in the following businesses: domestic utility, power marketing and trading, global power development, and domestic nuclear operations. For the three months ended 3/31/01, total revenues rose 46% to $2.65 billion. Net income applicable to Common rose 56% to $154.2 million. Results reflect higher electricity revenues due to higher fuel costs, and increased affiliate equity earnings.
