Business Summary
Deutsche Telekom AG is a European telecommunications company that offers fixed-line voice telephony products and services through more than 49 million access lines, as of December 31, 2000. Through T-Mobile, Deutsche Telekom served approximately 31.1 million mobile telephony customers in Europe. The Company is a provider of high-speed digital access lines with 600,000 digital service lines and 17.3 million channels using the information transfer standard known as Integrated Services Digital Network. Deutsche Telekom provides new asymmetric digital subscriber line services. T-Online is an Internet provider with approximately 7.9 million subscribers. Deutsche Telekom's subsidiaries and investments include telecommunications companies in the United Kingdom, France, Austria, Central and Eastern Europe, the United States and Asia. In May 2001, the Company acquired VoiceStream Wireless Corporation and Powertel, Inc.

Financial Summary
Deutsche Telekom AG provides public fixed-network voice telephony, mobile communications and cable TV and radio programming in Germany. DT also provides leased lines, text and data services, corporate networks and on-line services. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 17% to EUR22.92 billion. Net income according to U.S. GAAP fell 97% to EUR164M. Results reflect acquisitions and an increase number of mobile subscribers, offset by reduced sale gains.
