The independent oil refiner and marketer has three refineries -- in Alaska, Hawaii, and Washington -- with a combined capacity of 275,000 barrels per day, and it has agreed to buy two US refineries from BP. It makes gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel, fuel oil, liquid asphalt, and other fuel products. Tesoro operates some 280 gas stations (100 company-owned) in Alaska, Hawaii, and several Western states; it will gain more than 300 stations along with the BP refineries.
