PROFILE |
 |
Adding to the glitz and glitter of Los Angeles, Aurafin OroAmerica (formerly just OroAmerica) makes shiny karat gold jewelry. One of the largest US manufacturers of karat gold chain, the company also makes gold earrings, bracelets, rings, and charms, as well as sterling silver and gemstone jewelry. Most of the firms's gold jewelry retails between $30 and $200. The jewelry is sold through mass merchandisers, discount stores, home shopping networks, and warehouse clubs. Wal-Mart accounts for about 20% of sales. Aurafin OroAmerica makes its products in plants in California, the Caribbean, and South America. OroAmerica was bought by another US gold jewlery maker, Aurafin, in 2001 and made a division of that company.
