PROFILE |
 |
As the marketer of Duraflame, the #1 manufactured fireplace log, California Cedar Products Company helps keep the home fires burning. The company is also a leading supplier of wooden pencil slats (under the Ecoslat brand) to pencil makers. It also markets siding, decking, fence boards, posts, rails, and curtain-sided van conversion kits. The products are sold by retailers in North America and through a network of international distributors. In 1969 brothers Michael and Philip Berolzheimer, whose family owns California Cedar Products, began mixing sawdust and petroleum wax to create the logs soon renamed Duraflame. The family sold the Duraflame line to Clorox in 1978 but bought it back in 1982.
