Talisman Enterprises, Inc.
 PROFILE
For thirsty yet discriminating makers of electrical consumer products, Talisman Enterprises supplies a welcome brand of battery juice. Through its Talisman International subsidiary, the company makes disposable alkaline batteries for the private-label market in North America. Its batteries are used in toys, flashlights, and Walkmans. The company sells to major retailers a less expensive, store-branded alternative to name-brand batteries such as Duracell, Eveready, and Rayovac. Its customers include supermarket chains A&P, Harris Teeter, and Ingles Markets. Talisman Enterprises filed bankruptcy in February 2001.
