PROFILE Olan Mills wants to keep picture-perfect its status as the world's leading producer of family portraits. Through more than 750 studios in the US, Canada, and the UK, the company provides portraits to individuals, families, churches, clubs, and businesses. Olan Mills began in 1932, when founders Olan and Mary Mills sold portraits door-to-door throughout the South. Competition from retail store-based studios forced Olan Mills to close about 300 studios in recent years, but the company began opening portrait studios in some Kmart stores.
