When it's picture day at school and the kids are all lined up with new haircuts and scrubbed faces, odds are good that their toothy grins are directed at someone from Lifetouch. One of the largest US portrait photographers, employee-owned Lifetouch produces some 20 million pictures a year. The company also runs photography studios in JCPenney and Target stores and in shopping malls across the US and in Canada. Lifetouch also handles family portraits, church directories, and yearbooks, and it offers event digital imaging (which combines photography, graphics, and text), CD business imaging, and video production services. Lifetouch was founded in 1936 as National School Studios.
