PROFILE Freeport-McMoRan Oil and Gas Royalty Trust is running out of gas. And oil. And royalties. The company is a royalty trust formed to receive and distribute oil and gas royalties from a partnership created by Freeport-McMoRan (now part of IMC Global) in 1983. The trust's three remaining oil- and gas-producing properties are located off the coast of Louisiana and Texas. The current trust requires termination when royalties received are less than $3 million during three successive years (there have been no royalties at all since 1995), but a shareholder proposal extended the life of the trust until the end of 2000.
