PROFILE |
|
Friona Industries puts the beef in the Big Mac. Founded in 1962, Friona owns five feedyards in northwestern Texas with a feeding capacity of 220,000 head of cattle. The company partners with beef packers, livestock traders, and McDonald's in BAP Management, a partnership formed to buy, raise, process and market better beef. Friona's feed division serves horses, livestock, poultry, and pets under the Hi-Pro Feed and Godbold Feed brands. Its Hi-Pro Animal Health unit distributes pharmaceuticals. Friona Agricultural Credit helps ranchers finance and market feeding programs. Private investment firm Edwin L. Cox Co. controls Friona Industries.
