 PROFILE
H. B. Zachry began building roads and bridges in 1924, and now his son and grandsons are running the show. The construction and industrial service firm's business today includes building and maintaining power and chemical plants, steel and paper mills, refineries, roadways, dams, airfields, and pipelines. Operating mostly in the southern US, H. B. Zachry has built facilities for companies such as Phillips, DuPont, Samsung, Alcoa, and Shell. It also works internationally, and recently compled the reconstruction of the US Embassy in Moscow. Zachry also holds interests in ranches, oil exploration, cement, hospitality, realty, and entertainment companies, as well as the San Antonio Spurs basketball team.
