PROFILE |
 |
With newspapers in six countries, Sing Tao Holdings gets the word out -- in more than one language. It publishes the "Sing Tao Daily", the oldest Chinese-language newspaper in Hong Kong, as well as the English-language "Hong Kong iMail". "Sing Tao Daily" is published in Australia, Canada (through a joint venture with Torstar), New Zealand, the UK, and the US. In addition to newspapers, Sing Tao has several commercial printing and real estate operations. As part of a plan to pull the company from Chapter 11, chairman Sally Aw, daughter of founder Boon Haw Aw, sold her 50% stake in Sing Tao to investment bank Lazard Asia, which plans to sell its briefly owned shares.
