PROFILE Chief Consolidated Mining owns more than 19,000 acres in Utah's Tintic and East Tintic mining districts. The company develops the properties through its 75% interest in Tintic Utah Metals, a joint venture with KZ Utah, a subsidiary of Korea Zinc. The joint venture plans to develop the Burgin Mine, which has proven and probable reserves of more than 17 million ounces of silver, plus lead and zinc. (The mine is awaiting state approval.) Through subsidiary Chief Gold Mines, the company also owns the Trixie mine (gold, silver, and copper) in the same area.
