PROFILE Although it's not a good source of Vitamin C, Tang Industries "is" a diversified holding company; its largest holding is National Material, a metal-fabricating and -distributing company that engages in steel stamping and recycles and trades aluminum and scrap metal. In a joint venture with Acme Steel, National Material operates a wide-steel-coil processing plant in Chicago. The firm also has steel operations in China. Tang Industries' holdings include real estate, manufacturer GF Office Furniture, and Curatek Pharmaceuticals, which specializes in niche markets overlooked by large drugmakers.
