Dover Diversified builds packaging and printing machinery, heat-transfer equipment, food refrigeration and display cases, specialized bearings and compressors, construction and agricultural cabs for use in the defense, aerospace and automotive industries. Dover Industries makes products for use in the waste handling, bulk transport, automotive service, commercial foodservice and packaging, welding, cash dispenser and construction industries. Dover Resources manufactures products primarily for the automotive, fluid-handling, petroleum, winch and chemical equipment industries. Dover Technologies builds automated assembly and testing equipment for the electronics industry, industrial printers for coding and marking and specialized electronic components.

For the six months ended 6/30/01, net sales fell 9% to $2.39 billion. Net income fell 12% to $222.4 million. Results reflect the broad-based contraction in the electronics industry and an increase in selling, general and administrative expenses.
