Business Summary
Star Gas Partners, L.P. is a diversified home energy distributor and services provider, specializing in home heating oil, propane, natural gas and electricity. Through its subsidiaries, namely, Star Gas Propane, L.P., Petro Holdings, Inc., and Total Gas and Electric (TG&E), the Company operates in three business segments. Star Gas Propane, a wholly owned subsidiary, markets and distributes propane gas and related products to approximately 200,000 customers in the Midwest and Northeast. Petro, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary, is the nation's largest distributor of home heating oil and serves approximately 350,000 customers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. TG&E, a 72.7% owned subsidiary, is an energy reseller that markets natural gas and electricity to residential homeowners in deregulated energy markets in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida and Maryland and serves approximately 110,000 residential customers.

Financial Summary
SGU is a distributor of home heating oil and propane. The Co. serves approx. 335,000 heating oil customers and 186,000 propane customers in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. For the nine months ended 6/30/01, sales rose 50% to $960 million. Net income applicable to Limited Partners before acct. change rose 25% to $47.8 million. Results reflect additional sales by the heating oil segment, partially offset by an increase in compensation.
