Business Summary
Tom Brown, Inc is engaged primarily in the exploration for, and the acquisition, development, production, marketing and sale of, natural gas, natural gas liquids and crude oil in North America. The Company's activities are conducted principally in the Wind River and Green River Basins of Wyoming, the Piceance Basin of Colorado, the Paradox Basin of Utah and Colorado, the Val Verde Basin of west Texas, the Permian Basin of west Texas and southeastern New Mexico and the East Texas Basin. The Company also, to a lesser extent, conducts exploration and development activities in other areas of the continental United States and Canada.

Financial Summary
Tom Brown is engaged in the exploration for, and the acquisition, development, production and sale of, natural gas and crude oil in the U.S. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose from $99.1 million to $214.1 million. Net income applicable to Common and before accounting change rose from $19.4 million to $61.7 million. Results reflect the Stellarton acquisition, an increase in the production and price of natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids and improved operating margins.
