National City Corporation is a financial holding company that provides a full range of banking and financial services to individuals and businesses, including commercial and retail banking, consumer finance, asset management, mortgage financing and servicing and item processing. Operations are primarily conducted through more than 1,200 banking offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Michigan, and over 350 mortgage offices located throughout the United States.

Financial Summary
NCC is a regional bank holding company operating commercial banks with offices in OH, MI, PA, KY, IN, and IL. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total interest income rose 2% to $3.29 billion. Net interest income after loan loss prov. rose 2% to $1.36 billion. Net income applicable to Com. rose 3% to $684 million. Net interest income reflects strong commercial loan growth. Earnings also benefitted from substantial growth in deposit service charges and higher cash management fees.
