Business Summary
Global Crossing Ltd provides integrated telecommunications solutions over an integrated global Internet Protocol (IP)-based fiber-optic network, which will have more than 100,000 route miles, reaching four continents, 27 countries and more than 200 major cities by mid-2001. The Company provides services in two principal segments: telecommunications, and installation and maintenance. The telecommunications services segment offers a variety of integrated telecommunications services. The installation and maintenance services segment, consisting of the Company's Global Marine business, installs and maintains undersea fiber optic cable systems for carrier customers worldwide. The Company provides a full range of managed data and voice services. At year-end 2000, the network was 85% complete, and included 1.7 million fiber miles, 249 points of presence in 25 countries and metropolitan networks in 19 major cities.

Financial Summary
GX is a provider of global internet and long distance facilities and services utilizing a network of undersea digital fiber optic and associated terrestrial backhaul capacity. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 19% to $2.15 billion. Net loss from continuing operations applicable to Common rose 65% to $1.24 billion. Results reflect higher number and size of installation contracts awarded, offset by the expansion of the Company's network/business.
