Business Summary
Equity Inns, Inc. is in the business of acquiring equity interests in hotel properties, and is a real estate investment trust for federal income tax purposes. The Company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Equity Inns Trust, is the sole general partner of Equity Inns Partnership, L.P. and owned an approximate 96.8% interest in the Partnership. The Company conducts its business through the Partnership and its subsidiaries. At December 31, 2000, the Partnership or its affiliates owned 96 hotel properties, with a total of 12,284 rooms in 34 states. During the year ended December 31, 2000 the Partnership or its affiliates leased 75 of the Company's hotels to affiliates of Interstate Hotels Corporation, which was recently divested from Wyndham International, Inc. The Partnership leased 19 hotels to wholly owned subsidiaries of Prime Hospitality Corporation.

Financial Summary
ENN, a real estate investment trust based in Memphis, TN and established in 11/93, is involved in acquiring, developing and leasing hotel properties. ENN is the largest Hampton Inn owner. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues totaled $115.1 million, up from $37.8 million. Net income applicable to Common totaled $4.6 million vs. a loss of $12.7 million. Revenues reflect the inclusion of hotel revenues. Net income also reflects decreased real estate and personal property taxes.
