Financial Summary
CHIC is a mall-based specialty retailer of fashionable, value-priced apparel and accessories targeting young women between the ages of 15 and 35. For the 39 weeks ended 6/30/01, revenues rose 39% to $235.5 million. Net income before extraordinary item rose 37% to $16.2 million. Revenues reflect the opening of new stores and an increase in comparable store sales. Earnings were partially offset by an increase in selling, general and administrative expenses.
