Novell, Inc. is a provider of Net services software. Novell Net services secure and simplify networks and enable businesses and governments to move to a one Net solution. Net services from Novell make networks more manageable and secure and integrate a complete range of computer platforms, applications, services and devices. Novell's Net Directory business includes all of the NDS eDirectory solutions, as well as iChain, and DirXML. Novell's Net Management business includes all NetWare products, collaboration products (GroupWise Novell Internet Messaging System (NIMS) and Novell Portal Services (NPS)) and management products (ZENworks, ManageWiseand BorderManager). The Company's Internet Caching System (ICS) is an appliance technology that benefits Internet-enabled organizations by decreasing Internet wait times. In addition, Novell maintains worldwide channel, developer, education, consulting, and technical support programs that support network solutions.

Financial Summary
Novell, Inc. provides network and Internet directory software and services making networks more manageable and secure, integrating computer platforms, applications, services and devices. For the nine months ended 7/01, sales fell 18% to $732.5 million. Net loss before acctg. change totalled $167.3 million vs. an income of $84.4 million. Revenues suffered from a decline in sales of the older NetWare four products. Net loss reflects $30.4 million in restructuring charges.
