Business Summary
CH Energy Group, Inc. is the parent company of Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corp. (Central Hudson) and Central Hudson Energy Services, Inc. (CH Services) and its competitive business subsidiaries. Central Hudson generates, purchases, sells at wholesale and distributes electricity, and purchases and distributes gas in New York State. It also wholly owns Phoenix Development Company, Inc. CH Services is the holding company parent for each of the Company's competitive business subsidiaries, which include Central Hudson Enterprises Corporation, SCASCO, Inc., Prime Industrial Energy Services, Inc., CH Resources, Inc., CH Syracuse Properties, Inc., CH Niagara Properties, Inc., Griffith Energy Services, Inc. and Greene Point Development Corporation. The Company conducts its operations in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.

Financial Summary
CHG, an utility holding company, generates, purchases and distributes electricity. The Company also purchases and distributes gas in New York State. For the six months ended 6/30/01, total revenues rose 21% to $408.9 million. Net income applicable to Common fell 17% to $21.5 million. Revenues reflect higher gas sales to firm customers and an increase in affiliate sales. Earnings were offset by higher costs of purchased electricity and gas and cooler than normal weather.
