Adventure Squadron 8 : Chronicle: Faith and Loathing in PazarA giant rabbit comes and eats Nieve and Bola and craps out Kaleb and Seebor. Kaleb then casts Undectable Aura on the Staff of Midnight. In front of the party are golden, carved, scrolled doors. Damar translates the writing on the door, "Do not disturb... something or another." Flixie checks the doors for traps and doesn't find anything. Kaleb hears a noise. FLixie sneaks over to take a look. Seebor climbs down a rope. Flixie sees Seebor and calls back to the party. Damar yells out, "I translated the doors, DO not disturb the vanquished one. He is the treasure that must be kept." Impressed, Unka asks him to translate her amulet, but he doesn't know shit.Flixie, upon seeing Seebor, uses her Rod of Extinguishing to put out Seebor's torch. "Stop in the name of the Adventure Squadron 8!" is heard in the shadows. "Why are you following us? Did you bring us cake?," Flixie says. Unka asks if she should manacle the stranger. Kaleb casts Detect Magic and Seebor yells, "Stop! I mean you no harm, " and introduces himself. Unka backs off waiting with her manacles. People go looking around. So far, nothing special. We start clearing away the rubble. It is cleared enough for passage. We open the door. Sand comes piling in with giant tarantulas. We fight. Half-orcs are mincing the spiders, when lizards jump out of the walls. They are very tough, but we kill them. The room with the spiders have scroll cases in it. We go back to the double doors. It is magic; strong aura with abjuration school. We can't get in. Flixie casts Knock Twice and the door opens.... Then, we sleep may be in the room 6 giant statues await to kill us. What about a Magic Hand job! We all rest. Kaleb sumons a xorn and it freezes when it crosses the 1sta statue. Flixie summons a badger and it gets electrocuted by the second statue. The third statue does flame damae. Damar casts Burning Hands at the first statue. Flixie summons a Ball of Flame and the statue weakens. Kaleb kills all his magic badgers. Flixie loves her badgers. The first veil was dispelled. The second veil was dispelled by three brave badgers. Flixie uses Rod of Fire Extinguishing to get rid of the third veil. Yay! Flixie pokes the star gem and it glows. Unka picks it up and there's scary hideous laughter. We all say GULP and shit in trousers. We Fireball a path through the infinity spiders and get to the surface. Finally. But then, we are ambushed! Seebo dodges a treacherous strike while Ohla gets hit by lightening and goes all ax-mashin' on the mage. Kaleb is backstabbed by a traitor. Magik Misle in! the! face!... bad guys go... Damar whips out his chain lightning and WORKS IT! for like - no shit!- about 175 pts D on 6 guys... Stu wiffs, but thats okay since Flix's spell doesn't do much either and Unka slices her guy in half and flanks seebo's guy. Seebo scoffs at a bad hit and then comes back with a "Feel the burn!" Ohla smokes one bad but then just barely misses the traitor, but throwing off his gam when he tries to hit Kaleb who, enjoying a good system when it works, casts ANOTHER majik missile in! HIS! Face! Bad guys misses stu and daymar uses another lightning bolt to BBQ him just enough for Stu to flip him a shiv inna throat, but not before Flixie casts a web on seebo, the bad guy and Unka that webs no one. Unka taps that Maylas bad hard but then the bad guy just ups and disappears! Seebo, not being any kinda fool, takes a not so wild swing that still misses him. Ohla taps the traitor twice in the jaw with his spiked gauntlets, assuming that won't kill him, "since it's just fists, not a real weapon." Kaleb's Invisibility Purge and tracking skills - along with the fact that the Maylos guy is kicin' up a trail by running away- start a chase scene including everyone but Ohla who discovers that the traitor was, in fact, killed instead of just punched out. Ah, well... so Ohla goes thru the bodies looking for pirate booty. Once that's done, he hitches up the cart and follows the tracks of everyone else, so we can have fun checkin' the goods: Mage - Ring of Protection, Robe (Prot +1), Bracers (Armor +1) and Cloak (Resistance +1) Traitor - Ring of Free Movement Weapons, potions from each soldier and one more ring Ben sez kinda good place to stop, so lets identify this business we only get to ID 5 the first day because... who knows what the 'morrow may bring?!
