What Happened to ???

My web pages have been in operation for multiple decades at this point in time. While they are mostly for my own benefit, I do share knowledge for others to find.

As time moves on, web sites disappear, unfortunately. You can sometimes find older versions on The WayBack Machine -- The Internet Archive, however not all content is recorded.

Sometimes authors tracking the history of a company contact me to tell me about these events, and often provide an article about what happened.

I don't want to send browsers of my site to ad supported farms.. yet the information may be of value to anyone trying to find more.

I've added this interstitial page to allow people to choose if they want to find out what happened to a web site or company that was of interest to them.

I don't support or endorse the following articles, but someone took the time to mail me about them, and I found them interesting enough to do something about.

Dallas Semiconductor

Dallas Semiconductor made a wealth of small electronics perfect for random projects. They had everything to make usable things for simple systems. They were eventually bought out by Maxim Semiconductor (who was just bought out in 2021).

I was forwarded an article about the purchase and subsequent history:

Home Time

HomeTime was one off the more interesting building shows. They went through a variety of stages and products of the home building and remodelling process... While also doing an analysis of the tradeoffs between various methods and materials.

I really liked them because they exposed you to products that were commonly available, but not the 99% use case... and were often refreshingly good!

Alas, they went away sometimes, and I was forwarded an article about it to replace my broken link:
