Sunday November 22, 1998 | I filled Mercapto's dish with seeds and rat treats on the bottom and rat chow chunks on top. | He dug right to the bottom of the dish and ate all the rat treats. He kicked the rat chow out of his dish and seems to be ignoring it. |
Monday November 23, 1998 | Two soda crackers at different times. | He grabbed both crackers with the deft precision I've come to expect from a fat rat who's hungry for treats. Then he ran to a box (he has 4 boxes right now), holding his cracker high, and got to work on it. |
Tuesday November 24, 1998 | A nice juicy carrot, broken in half | He sniffed at it and looked away. He usually at least grabbs the carrots. I guess he's just been spoiled lately and carrots just aren't good enough any more. He did get busy on the carrot after I'd left. |
A soda cracker | I was leaning over from my chair, pushing the cracker over the edge of Mercapto's cage when he jumped 20 inches to the top of the aquarium, hitting the cracker with his nose, and sending it flying away from the cage onto the floor. Then he hung by his front feet on the top of the aquarium until I picked the cracker up and fed it to him again. | |
Wednesday November 25, 1998 | Part of a big apple | He forcefuly grabbed it out of my hand. I was left holding just the stem. |
Thursday November 26, 1998 | Filled his dish with rat chow. | He flipped the dish over and started burrying the rat food. I'm not sure if he buries his food on purpose or just inadvertently in the process of his other rat activities. |
Friday November 27, 1998 | Re-filled his water bottle | When he's out of water and he knows you're around he starts banging his water bottle on the side of the aquarium. After I refilled it he started drinking right away. |
Saturday November 28, 1998 | Part of a piece of bread with jam | He really liked that |
A frosted flake | He liked that too. Frosted flakes are so small, I was worried he'd bite my finger off! |
