Technically I don't have any pets. I know people with official pets, though, and am indefinitely taking care Amy Allen's rat Mercapto. He didn't get a name for a long time after Amy got him, so I named him myself. Afterwards she tried to tell me that his name was Rattatui, but I'd have none of it. Mercapto is a white-with-pink-eyes Sprague-Dawley© brand male rat who Amy rescued from a lab. If I had a hammer, uh ... I mean a camera, I'd take a picture of him and scan it in. If the major browsers supported the scratch&sniff plugin technology I'd post his smell here so you could smell him (he smells like graham crackers, I swear!). He probably smells like graham crackers because I feed him so many of them. They are his favorite treat (send me email to vote on what else I should try feeding him). I usually give him ShurFine brand Honey Graham Crackers when I am training him to do something cute. It is a common misconception that rats are just naturally cute. In fact, rats have to be trained to be cute through classical conditioning. If left to their own devices, rats are just stinky little mongrels that pee on everything in sight. Mercapto knows how to do the following cute things thanks to my self-designed cuteness program:
My parents have a dog named Rascal. Rascal is a yellow female german sheapherd-husky. They have pictures of her, but I don't. She's a biggish dog who likes bones, squeaky-balls, and ropes just to name a few. One thing I can say about Rascal is that she is a lot smarter than Mercapto. She knows not to pee on you. She can't climb a ladder or run in a wheel, though, so I guess it evens out.

My roommate Karl has a cat, Roxy. I'll try and remember to ask him for a picture to scan in. Roxy is a female siamese cat. She is a sweetheart. She loves attention. If you don't give it to her, she'll take it. She would probably like to eat Mercapto, but I shant let her.
