PREFACE

This tutorial is designed to give the first-time Mentor Graphics user an introduction to the tools needed to perform schematic capture (design entry) and simulation of digital circuits. Although Design Architect and QuickSim II can both be used for general purpose digital design, a special emphasis will be placed upon design with MOSIS-compatible technology files. By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to use Design Architect to enter and verify schematics, Design Viewpoint Editor to create the IC simulation viewpoint and QuickSim II to simulate the design.

USAGE

The images in this document automatically scale with the visible area of the netscape browser. If you want more detail in an image, increase the window size.

The netscape browser automatically allocates as many color table entries as it can grab when it is run. For that reason, it is highly recommended that when using this tutorial with netscape you start an mgc application first. This will not affect the quality of the tutorial images.
