Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

• Tunnel traffic from host/network A to host/network B

  • Encapsulate in another protocol (IP, SSH, etc)
  • Usually includes encryption, authentication

• Block all external traffic except to “public” services

• Allow only VPN traffic to internal services
