Final Grades
Final Grades are determined by computing a weighted average of these categories
and assigning a letter grade based on a grading curve scale. There is no curve
computed for individual exam and project scores. It is the final overall
percentage that is used for final grades. These cutoffs might be reduced a little
if any exams/projects are more difficult than the previous semesters but these cutoffs
won't be increased. i.e., if you get >= 90, you can be sure that you'll get an A in this course!
This scale reflects the standard curve used before any adjustments are made.
Letter Grade |
Final Points |
A | score >= 90 |
AB | 90 > score >= 85 |
B | 85 > score >= 80 |
BC | 80 > score >= 75 |
C | 75 > score >= 70 |
D | 70 > score >= 60 |
F (probably!) | score < 60 |
Regrading Requests
All regrading requests must be made within 1 week from when the
project/exam/worksheet grade is released. Any regrading requests after that
will not be considered.
