Description

Edge's Tale: The Pulse of Babil is an optional story for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. It is a separate download for mobile phones and a DLC for WiiWare version of the game.

Edge is a ninja, king of Eblan and one of the important characters in the original Final Fantasy IV. In this story the players control not only Edge, but also his four ninja apprentices - each with unique abilities. At first all ninjas act separately carrying out their investigation on the appearance of the second moon, but later the team unites. In this tale some ninja characters can die permanently and so be unavailable for the rest of the game, including later downloadable tales.

Edge's Tale features mechanics introduced in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - bands and the change of the moon phase. The Challenge dungeon (accessible after the story is completed) has a Tower of Babil look and is an exercise in speed-running. The faster you get to the end of the dungeon (consisting of several floors) the better the final treasure will be. Also there are two rare items on each floor randomly hidden in chests.

Edge's Tale is not necessary for completing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, however finishing this story will allow the players to export the characters with all their items, equipment and characteristics into the final tale - The Crystals.
