Description
Yang's Tale: The Master of Fabul is an optional story for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. It is a separate download for mobile phones and a DLC for WiiWare version of the game.Yang is a monk and a ruler of the land of Fabul. He is one of the main characters in the original Final Fantasy IV. Yang's Tale is the story of his relationship with his daughter Ursula. The girl desperately wants to train to become a monk, but Yang, an over-protective father, thinks the princess doesn't need this. It all changes when Ursula runs away from the castle to investigate the fallen star at mount Hobbs and Yang comes to her rescue only to find out that the girl has grown to stand for herself. The later events intertwine with the main game, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and with some other optional tales.
Yang's Tale features mechanics introduced in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - bands and the change of the moon phase. There is also a Challenge dungeon accessible after the end of the story. The Challenge dungeon is a series of straightforward corridors with increasingly difficult enemies and a varying treasure at the end.
Yang's Tale is not necessary for completing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, however finishing this story will allow the players to export the characters with all their items, equipment and characteristics into the final tale - The Crystals.
