Description

Mass Effect 3: From Ashes is the first commercial DLC (downloadable content) for Mass Effect 3. It adds a new companion, Javik the last Prothean, who is acquired after a mission which has the scope of a typical side quest of the main game, and has the opportunity to gather a few more war assets. Along with him, the DLC adds a new rifle with recharging ammo but small damage, an opportunity to gather a few more war assets during the mentioned mission and an alternate outfit for the other companions.

Controversy

The DLC stirred quite a controversy because it was released alongside with the main game. This caused the suspicion that the content was deliberately cut out of the game; supported by a Youtube video which shows how to unlock Jarvik by changing a single line in the game files. However, the other DLC content like his mission or dialogues are not unlocked.
