Motorcyclist recently showed the above picture and said that it would be 850cc, more touring oriented than the 94+ VFR750, and will cost more than $10,000 US. Other reports suggest this bike may be released as an 800cc model, with fuel injection.

Today, I went into a motorcycle dealership in Corte Madera,
California, to buy a VFR750. (I almost bought a Ducati, but
I came to my senses.) Anyway, the dealer told (without prompting,
so I actually tend to believe what this dealer said) that the
Honda had anounced yesterday that the '97 VFR 750 would be unchanged
from this years model, thus placing the VFR850's introduction further
into the future.

I talked to my local dealer today ( Huntington Honda, Huntington
Beach, CA.). He assured me that there will be NO 850 for 1997. It WILL be
on the market in 1998, however. Ernie Havner
